There came a point and a time

when I realized that the person that raised me

has sacrificed so much. The blood, the sweat, the tears,

and the pain all felt at the same time but still having

the ability to push forward showed off her strength and

strong mentality. The woman that once was and the

woman that is now has learned to grow and become

stronger mentally, physically, and emotionally. You

decided to have me because you loved me already

and already felt me growing inside of you.

Abortion was an option but was never a choice for you

due to your beliefs in keeping me alive. I was born a preemie

and had to have help breathing and eating. You were scared

of what would and could happen to me. You sacrificed your time,

money, patience, just so I could survive and have the ability

to live a normal life. You were elated and so happy that I survived

depsite being born three months early and suffering from being

underdeveloped. This is what you wanted, a new baby, and another

chance to to take care of another human being. You watched me

grow, protected me from evil, and taught me the difference

between what is right and what is wrong. You taught me to play,

to live, to not hope to grow up so fast, oh how I wish I would

have realized that you were right at the time. You told me how I

should always strive to be the best that I could be and to always follow

my dreams. To be kind to others, to remain humble, to give more

than I receive. You showed me to overlook negative people and

negative situations. You taught me to be strong and to stand

up for myself. You let me know when I should apologize and

admit when I have been wrong. You've helped me to weather

strong storms and enjoy the brightness of the light and being

happy with the fact that I can help others in the process. You've

educated me on whats to come into life and what I should prepare

for while entering into the real world. Having to pay my own bills,

buy my own food, and clothes has been a challenge that I've dealt

with well due to the help that you have given me. You are an amazing

well rounded individual who put has put your life on hold in pursuit of becoming

a nurse and instead worked two jobs to take care of me and my

siblings. You could have pursued your dreams but you decided that

doing both was impossible and that family came first. No wonder why you

have high hopes for me to succeed and to become the nurse that

I want to be. You've always asked me if I needed money, school supplies,

you helped me to set up appointments, always made sure I finished my

homework and that I was trying my hardest to succeed no matter what

the obstacle was. You always gave me positive feedback, whenever I needed to

hear it. Oh how the tables have turned. Your really sick now and I'm afraid.

I'm afraid of what's going to happen next since the cancer won't go away this

time with chemo. I'm afraid of the unknown of what could happen. This is the

third time that you've had cancer and I can't even imagine the pain that you are

going through. Now it's my time to take care of you and to make sure that your okay.

I know its a possibility you could lose your job and thats okay.

Im here mom everything is going to be okay. Im here to help you walk,

to wash you, feed you, and bathe you. You mean the world to me and I dont want

to see you go so soon. I need you here with me forever and ever.

That is why to me you will always be my precious love.

  • Endless Time
Its like a revolving door that will never stop spinning.
  • Hope is Lost (A Poem)
Your reaching believing that untold dreams do come true your pouting doubting scared and turning blue your hurt your pain no sun just rain coming down on your parade you can't go forward you must go back that's where safe is at your use to...

Hi torrilyn lovely read until i reach the end i got sad hearing about your mum's sickness. I am very sorry to hear about your mummy's situation and please if ever you need a shoulder to lean on please contact me at absonlinework@live.com and put a subject so i'd know who it's from. Also save me so it will come into my inboxs and not get lost in junk.

Please hang in there and HAVE FAITH in GOD he is the author and the finisher of our Faith. God can heal your mother if she only believe and trust fully in Him not wavering her faith. I'd keep you all in my prayer as cancer is a very wicked spirit that invades the human body.

Kathryn from Windsor, Connecticut on March 10, 2013:

This was a beautiful tribute to your mother, and I wish you both well.

Mike Pugh from New York City on March 10, 2013:

My bad for the long message, but I had too:

I know how you feel Torrilynn I completely empathize with your wanting to keep your mom forever in your arms, such a true precious love does indeed last such a time I do believe, since we are all spirits besides flesh.

My mother died from breast cancer in the Early winter time of 2007, and I went through much of what you expressed that your going through with your mother, and so this is why I truly understand the pain it has caused you thus far, and that of your loving mom.

Your hub here shows to us all, how much you truly appreciate all that your mom has done for you, and through all the thick and thin moments you have made it through together, you feel a sense of owing her back somehow.

I want to tell you that when the time comes for her to pass, please keep these memories close to you and hang in there. All the memories of my mother, such as yours here, actually helps me to cope with my loss of her at such a young age and even till this day 6 years later. She was only 53 when she passed, and so it hurt me and my family tremendously, but I am able to stand on my two feet today, and to be all I can be because of her inner strength, and powers of spiritualism she manifested in all her boys. (She had 5 boys and no girls)

She is now with the Lord in heaven I am sure of that, and I know she is proud of all of her Men she raised, because we all are now grown up and strong like horses today. "Thank God!"

Thanks you for writing this heart warming hub here Torrilynn, it goes to show that you have a huge heart, and also thanks for showing many of my hubs some much needed love as well.

Your new budd Cloud Explorer aka Mike Pugh.

If you interested in hearing my story about my mother I wrote a few hubs about her influence on my life as well, one was about her fight with cancer and what I wish I had known about the disease when she was still alive. Just let me know, it might help you out in handling this pressure build up and all.

Thumbs high up and getting shared for sure.

Sweet and wonderful tribute to your mom, and all moms I'd say. They brought us forth into this world and have been there for us since they knew we existed inside them. I wish her speedy recovery and healing.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on March 06, 2013:

It's interesting, Torrilynn, but I recently had this discussion with myself, remembering my parents and realizing what an incredible job they did of raising me. Thank you for this beautiful tribute to your mother.

Joanne M Olivieri on March 06, 2013:

What a beautiful tribute to your Mom. I can feel your emotion and love for her through your words.

Karen Hellier from Georgia on March 06, 2013:

This is such a sweet tribute to your mom. What a tribute. You are fortunate to have had this woman as your mother, and she is fortunate to have you as a child. Most grown children don't appreciate their parents till it's too late to tell them. Good for you for realizing your love and appreciation for your mom already, and for not being afraid to share this appreciation with her and the rest of the world. I wish you both peace, and healing for your mom.

P. Thorpe Christiansen from Pacific Northwest, USA on March 06, 2013:

Wonderful tribute. My mom died when I was 15, I am not 61 and miss her still. It is a pain that does not go away. You are a brave and wonderful daughter to be there for your mom. Say all of the unsaid things to each other now.

europewalker on March 06, 2013:

Lovely poem for your Mom. My Mom was the most giving and the most unselfish person in my life. She passed away three years ago and I miss her everyday. Voted up and awesome.

Tijani Achamlal from Morocco on March 06, 2013:

Thanks for this hub.Mother is that person who cannot be replaced with any other relation in this world. Our mom is unique because no matter how much loving are the other relations, no one can be like mother. Try to find out the replacement of the mother, you will not find any. Try to buy the love of mother, you will not find that money to buy the love. In short, the only relation on earth that cannot be seen with suspicious eyes is the mother.I voted up

Faythe Payne from USA on March 06, 2013:

A wonderful tribute to your mom..and I can relate...
