Motivation—From Me To You.

Motivation—From Me To You.

One Sentence Prompt Challenge by John Hansen

The set of poems, in this particular post has been inspired by a challenge given by—

—John Hansen.

John Hansen or Jodah, needs no introduction. He is master of his craft, when it comes to creative writing. He has been contributing to the Poetry World, since a long time. He has the creative talent of composing a poem, on any and every topic, and that too beautifully. Needless to say, that he has inspired many writers on HubPages, and other writing platforms, where he publishes regularly.
He is a good friend and fellow writer, and we have been following each other, since my early years at HubPages.
Though, I am not a regular poet, but I like to take up challenges.

One sentence prompt challenge, is one such challenge, proposed by John Hansen.
I have come across some excellent responses to this challenge, by fellow writers—each one unique, each one wonderful.

Hope you like mine, John.

Motivation—From Me To You.

I have selected two quotes, for my poems, the reference to which is given above.
The readers can interpret this as words of ’Motivation.’

These words can be from a teacher to the students, from the parent to the child.
Since, I have lived both the roles in real life, it was not very difficult to relate.

Quote 1:

“Believe you can, and you are halfway there.”—Theodore Roosevelt.

Believe me, or not,

You have the choice,

Can you come near me,

And, assess yourself to see,

You will be happily surprised,

Are we still that far, or-

Halfway to the beautiful dreams,

There it is-Grand and Glorious.

Quote 2:

“Be the change, you want to see in this World.”—Mahatma Gandhi.

Be positive and hopeful,

The time is not far,

Change will come,

You should have patience,

Want to see you succeed,

To achieve and excel in life,

See you accomplished and happy,

In each and every walk of life,

This will surely happen, and the-

World will see, and applaud.

Step by step to success.

Step by step to success.

I am usually a motivated person, and like to be that way, whatever the odds may be.

The first picture is from my residential area. This is my everyday walking path, in the morning and the evening. I have used this picture in many of my articles and poems.

I am fortunate to reside at a location, with greenery all around.

The second picture is from the Lodhi garden, Delhi, about which I have written an article earlier, and also shared pictures of the same.

Thank you for reading and commenting. Much appreciated.

Cynthia Zirkwitz from Vancouver Island, Canada on March 12, 2021:

Thanks for reading and commenting.

manatita44 from london on March 12, 2021:

The first thing that hit me is your photo --the road, the path ... the the verdant green of the trees and foliage. It's so immaculate! Is it something you took? I can see Ann Carr, even me, writing a lot from that photo.

Your poetry is beautiful! I have read your work before and enjoyed it (The poetry, I mean) I love the idea that you are motivational, no surprise for you, I'm sure and you being who you are is no surprise for me either. We do what we can to inspire others.

Pardon me if I say that you've made it more acrostic, which does not work. Highlight the full word on each line. Otherwise, well done!

Ravi Rajan from Mumbai on March 12, 2021:

Very nice chitragada. The words are simple and yet the message you bring across comes out succinctly justifying the quotes. Thanks for sharing.

Misbah Sheikh from The World of Poets on March 12, 2021:

A wonderful read Chitra di

You did justice with John's challenge twice at once

I enjoyed reading it

Truly Motivational

Blessings
