Rosina S Khan

Rosina exudes the virtues of ancient Indian ideals: Discipline, fidelity and parental loyalty. She is diligent and studious with an excellent sense of virtue and decorum.

Rosina has discovered a talent for writing and writes fairly regularly on Hub Pages. She speaks of other ‘big’ dreams to fulfil, but for the moment she passes her time writing articles, blogs, self-help books, fiction short stories and Computer Science academic guides.

Rosina enjoys singing and passes her time in the beauty of musical soliloquy. She also plays a special native musical instrument, as well as experimenting with culinary skills.

Rosina is a university graduate and her father was an Academic before her. She has other siblings in her family and she longs to travel to America, when the current challenges of Covid-19 settle down and become less dangerous. She’s a wonderful and beautiful soul and writes of her own unique dreams, like so many of us do.

I Searched for Delight

I searched for man,

I learnt the ignoble art of bondage.

I searched for Heaven,

I learnt the wishful art of dreaming.

I searched for purity,

The Lilly-white moon embraced me.

I searched for power divine,

I was adorned by raiment, of the rising sun.

I searched for Light,

I learnt the noble art of serving.

I searched for Love,

I learnt the noble art of Being.

I searched for Delight, the Beloved embraced

Me and said: “Take me, for I am yours.”

I Prayed for Love

I prayed for fortitude, I was shown

The blood-red heart, of a mother’s concern.

I prayed for patience. Mother Earth blessed

Me, with the light of her enduring quietude.

I prayed for humility, the bent tree

Offered me its shade, flowers and fruits.

I prayed for poise; the golden dawn,

Kissed my Heart with its lustrous splendour.

I prayed for vigilance. I was told to

Watch the mother, cot and child; so I

Learnt how to remain awake. I prayed for

Light; the blue moon came and kissed my soul.

I prayed for Love; the Beloved embraced

Me, with the Bliss of Its golden Silence.

You are understanding even more what I do. Just imagine my 1000 poems! Many are metaphorical. These two today is a direct attempt to create deep reflections.

So happy you love the rose. Hopefully the next time you see it, the poem will be related to it. Thank you so much!!

manatita44 (author) from london on February 08, 2021:

Aww, my charming Didi ji.

You are a unique dream of God. In my spiritual Centre, singing is a meditation, but not everyone can sing. Some are great cooks, some great leaders and organisers, some are awesome with the internet.

Point is that we are all skillful in the eyes of Allah and all have our talents and virtues. Thank you so much!

I tried to put a cute one of your photos, but it didn't allow me. Still, I'm sure you will agree that the rose is a most fragrant replacement, even while knowing that human charm is infinitely superior. Salaam!

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on February 08, 2021:
