I Don't Believe in Death: A Short Poem About Life

A quick sketch..

A quick sketch..

I feel energy

pulse outside my veins,

so much power

that my body can't contain.

This life that bleeds and feeds

on my victories and pain,

stores memories

outside the living brain.

So as a soul's shacked

by the senses of the flesh,

there's a world

alive & thriving,

living at their best.

This world's good

but it's discouraging my rest.

So when I'm gone

don't buy the lie,

I'm sure we'd have some very interesting conversations. Haha yeah, around here there's plenty of nature to go around.

Lissette from Central Florida on December 05, 2013:

I have often thought about how cool it would be to have a real conversation with your face and not just your typed words... it doesn't hurt that you can show me nature too. Lol.

Harish Mamgain from New Delhi , India on December 05, 2013:

Such a wonderful piece ! Very true, death is to the body, not to the one who is like a drop in the ocean, a ray in the Sun, a life in beings, a breath in life, a thought in thinking ..........Death is when we shrink not when we outgrow. Love this gem.

Leone Vidoni (author) from Portland, Oregon on December 04, 2013:

I'm glad you appreciate the work. Poems are short, but my thoughts on this were long winded.

Eric Wayne Flynn from Providence, Rhode Island on December 04, 2013:

Your a true artist, the likes which are hard to come by.

Leone Vidoni (author) from Portland, Oregon on June 04, 2013:

Vocalcoach you've some amazing writing here at hubpages, thanks for sharing some of it here in my comments. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed my poem.

Look forward to reading more of your work! -Brian

Leone Vidoni (author) from Portland, Oregon on June 04, 2013:

Ruby Rose- Thanks for the share! Yummy indeed.

Audrey Hunt from Pahrump NV on June 04, 2013:

I found this to be an absolute masterpiece! If we consider mother nature in relationship to death, it's easy to see that death is a shedding of the outer image only. The rose 'dies' but in a short while returns in full blossom and beauty.

This is my first visit to your 'hubhome' but certainly not my last. Your new fan and friend ~ vocalcoach.

Maree Michael Martin from Northwest Washington on an Island on June 04, 2013:

voted up and shared, the cycle of life, yummy

Leone Vidoni (author) from Portland, Oregon on September 08, 2012:

Thanks Twin. Yeah, I think that's a good perspective. Appreciate the comment.

Linda Rogers from Minnesota on September 07, 2012:

Nice poem about life and death. I think that knowing we are mortal is incentive to live fully. I hit many buttons.

Leone Vidoni (author) from Portland, Oregon on April 01, 2012:

Thanks samtebbutt!

Sam from Ireland on April 01, 2012:

Haha well Thank you Christine. Glad you could work through some of my hubs. I appreciate you spending the time. Yeah it could just be a water spot or something, but you never know!.. Thanks again --Brian

Christine P Ann from Australia on December 17, 2011:

love, love, love it. your words are very powerful. I too noticed the orbs and eyes in your pic, might just be something on the camera lens....but then it might not :) Going to read some more of your words handsome man :)

Leone Vidoni (author) from Portland, Oregon on December 14, 2011:

Terry- I never noticed the orbs in the photo... I recently started watching a couple paranormal shows and saw those flying around in video clips on the show. You got me looking back at my pics and there all around in one set of my photos... I don't know what I believe regarding that stuff, but I can say I got the chills now. Oh and thanks for the Good compliments!

Be sure to make yourself known to me at the party because I believe as well.

Thank you for entertaining my question...

I will take the free blessings you have sent and send some blessings your way as well.

Leone Vidoni (author) from Portland, Oregon on December 12, 2011:

Well Moms, So I've heard there's a first for everything, glad you found your way here. I really appreciate your kind words. I'm a lot better at starting art projects than I am finishing them.. hence the sketches. I believe that because of my relationship with a living God and a belief that Jesus has wiped out all my shortcomings, I will spend eternity in blissful celebration with other beautiful beings. Party! lol blessings to you Moms-Secret

Lissette from Central Florida on December 12, 2011:

I love it. I have to admit that this is the first time I visit your work. I would like to see your finished art, the sketch is beautiful as is the piece itself.

You don't believe in death. The poem keeps compelling me to ask what you believe in. For those of us who truly put a piece of ourselves in our writings are often asked for more.

Leone Vidoni (author) from Portland, Oregon on December 11, 2011:

Oh she's a Canadian Huh? I did get a chance to read one of her hubs... It absolutely blew me away. I'm looking forward to reading more from her.

Leone Vidoni (author) from Portland, Oregon on December 11, 2011:

OK. You'll have to stop there Ep... Jealousy is overtaking me at the moment.Haha I would have died to be at that Zeppelin Show, they're still my favorite band.... and Marley too! I saw his son Ziggy Marley and the Wailers a few years back. And got to see Buddy Guy this summer. There's nothing quite like a good rockin' show. I missed BB King, who was in my home town a month back. But did catch The Black Keys. Well Sounds like a PARTY! Yep I'd rather be rocking out by a lake then getting ready for work tomorrow that's for sure.

Beautifully written! I loved it!

My favorite line, "A life that brain".

Voted up ;D

JinnyMarte on December 11, 2011:

Brian this is stricking! So full of a very brilliant spark. The way the verses intertwine is so inviting. It exudes passion and drive. It's deep and so concise it thrives and reaches out and stands tall on it's own. It's almost as if the words were alive. Therefore, flesh is obsolete for death cannot touch a soul that thrives with life! I Love it!!

bharmoriat from CHANDIGARH INDIA on December 10, 2011:

Rinita Sen on December 10, 2011:

Invigorating poetry. Loved the lines: A life that bleeds and feeds

On my victories and pain

Stores memories

Outside the living brain

Marlena Oechsner from Wisconsin on December 10, 2011:

I really enjoyed this. It made me think that life is worth living and you are to enjoy it; quit worrying about dying and just enjoy what you have. The line "a life that bleeds and feeds" really sticks with me. Thanks for sharing.

Sky9106 from A beautiful place on earth. on December 10, 2011:

That's pretty deep Lvid and the truth of it is that's where poems should originate, deep inside our truth.

I like where you take it and knowing that you are a believer death is but the process of transformation.

So I share your truth.
