Miss ocfireflies

Lately, I have found myself telling friends and family (really just about anyone who will listen) that I am about to publish my 100th Hub. I follow quickly with, "It is really not a big deal to anyone but me." And that is okay.

Miss ocfireflies

aka Kim

aka Kim

Who is ocfireflies?

Who is ocfireflies?

ocf's friends would say:

She is very smart and loves her animals.

They would tell you:

She is loyal.

She is true.

She is real.

Her family would try to explain:

Her heart is big! She

hurts -the kind of hurts

takes lots of time to heal

And I think there is truth:

the truths we tell ourselves;

the truths we can't forget;

the truths that make me: me

and you: you.

Emily Dickinson was a special woman. She was a rebel in the poet world. Smiles...

I'm nobody! Who are you?
Are you nobody, too?
Then there's a pair of us -don't tell!
They'd banish us, you know.

How dreary to be somebody!
How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
To an admiring bog!

~Emily Dickinson

Don't know how I missed this and sorry I did! Congrats on the 100th and I know you will have many more. Great picture! Also good choice in the little girl one. I could almost bet it was you as a little girl! ^+ So glad the share button is finally working.

ocfireflies (author) from North Carolina on March 05, 2015:

Thank you for celebrating my century. Smiles. And for allowing me to share a little part of me with you. So glad to have a fellow hubber who loves Emily D as much as I do. You Rock!

Genna East from Massachusetts, USA on March 04, 2015:

Congratulations, Kim on your 100th hub…that’s quite an achievement, my friend. And I love your reference to Emily…one of my favorite poets; she tugs at my soul at times with her unique voice and sovereign view of the world. And I like your photo, too. Thank you for sharing you. :-)

ocfireflies (author) from North Carolina on February 21, 2015:

Thanks for your kind words and willingness to link mine with yours.

As always, you charm me with your words

"until we use the coupons still attached inside our own heart's core"

just beautiful

Good to see you, and thanks for acknowledging Emily D's contribution.

With a Century's Worth of Good Luck and Best Wishes to All,

Romeos Quill from Lincolnshire, England on February 20, 2015:

Congratulations on reaching a century Kim!

" I'm nobody! Who are you?...." lol! love it.

Great pics of you and fine words to accompany.

You are unique. You make me laugh and you seem to be such a fine mother.

All the Best;

Max Havlick from Villa Park, Illinois on February 19, 2015:

Hi Kim.

With your one hundred worthy contributions to our public lore

you need not worry over Hub computer's artificial score.

Instead, to you I offer -- jealously -- congratulations for

these many loving, faithful readers who now linger at your door,

encouraging your work, anticipating you will give them more.

But if it better suits and ornaments your somber heart's décor,

I offer you my crying shoulder's sad condolences the more,

for even in your pain you warrant our consideration, for

relentlessly you speak realities we try, but can't ignore.

For you accept, and can embrace, your own high craziness, therefore

it seems appropriate that you be literary guarantor

continuing to underline the fact that most of us want more

than can be stacked for sale to us inside Reality's rich store

until we use the coupons still attached inside our own heart's core.

John Hansen from Gondwana Land on February 16, 2015:

Good for you Kim, can't wait to see what you come up with. I know it will be good.

ocfireflies (author) from North Carolina on February 16, 2015:

Thank You! The same from me as well. I think I have found my sentence for your prompt challenge. Smiles.

Loving your hug and sending one back your way. Creating this hub was not an easy task for me, so I really do appreciate your support. I am indeed very blessed to have family and friends who show me great love...and patience. And not just in my every day life, but on HP. The love and support I have been given here has gotten me through some really tough days. Thank You for Being You! Yes! "First century!" I like the sound of that. Smiles and so much more.

Jo Alexis-Hagues from Lincolnshire, U.K on February 16, 2015:

I believe that the real ocf's is all the above and so much more. Congratulations on scoring your first century, I'm sure there will be many more. Kim, you are one of a kind, beautiful inside and out, you're unique with a style all of your own and so very talented. It's a real pleasure knowing you. I like the poem, how we conceptualize ourselves aren't always as others see us, but as I read through your poem, I get a picture of someone with a great capacity for love, who is also loved. Interesting as always, beautiful photos, up and sharing. Big Hug coming your way. :-)

John Hansen from Gondwana Land on February 16, 2015:

Hey Kim, you can always link to my self-interview hub or any others you wish. Just let me know and I'll reciprocate.

ocfireflies (author) from North Carolina on February 16, 2015:

Thank You for sending your kind words my way. I never thought I would reach 100; and like I often do--I obsessed over trying to make it special.

I hope folks who have written these auto-bio hubs let me know if I can link their interview hubs to this one and vice versa. HP mgt sent me a congratulatory email where they included a "fun fact--after a tv show has aired 100 times, it is considered syndicated..." I kind of think that is cool. And you sharing as well makes me smile, too. Thank You.

As for rarity, that honor belongs to you.

Long time--No see. Thanks for stopping by...

Blessings to you Both,

Benton Arnschluke on February 16, 2015:

Congrats on your 100th! Keep 'em coming!

Faith Reaper from southern USA on February 16, 2015:

Hi Lovely Kim, who is loving and kind person and woman, and a great poet and writer to boot! You are special and unique ... one of a kind, more beautiful than the rarest of gems on this planet! You are loved.

Congrats on the 100th hub and here's to 100 more on the way!

Thank you for sharing yourself here and providing a little more insight into who you are ... somebody!

Up ++++ tweeting, pinning, G+ and sharing

Hugs, love, peace and blessings always

(Pinterest is not working right for me, so I shall return.)

ocfireflies (author) from North Carolina on February 16, 2015:

Thanks for playing along. smiles.

I think you one very special lady, too.

I never could get this hub to turn out in a satisfactory way, so I went ahead with this angle. Looking back at the piece now and reading the comments, I am afraid folks see the piece as me seeking validation and that's not what I had in mind. Oh well... And yes, that picture is of me.

Off to take a much needed nap. Maybe 101 will come to me in a dream.

Hugs from NC

Blessings to all,

John Hansen from Gondwana Land on February 16, 2015:

Kim, Congratulations on your "100th Hub!"my dear friend. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and special insight into you. I agree with Sally, you are certainly not "nobody". You are you, and just that fact is beautiful. You light up wherever you touch here at Hub Pages like one of your beloved fireflies. I look forward to reading your next 100 hubs.(Was that first lovely pic you in 1981?)

Hugs from Australia.

Sally Gulbrandsen from Norfolk on February 16, 2015:

Hi Kin

Congratulations on 100 hubs - that is pretty darn amazing.

The only thing I disagree with is that you are nobody, you are somebody, you are you, one very special lady.
