Love's Masquerade Ball
MASQUERADE
How can love be
offered,
given. and
then withdrawn?
What kind of love is that?
Was it ever love at all?
Does love
go to masquerade parties,
dance, dine, kiss,
and then go home
to wherever it came from?
I think not,
but it's disguise
fooled me.

You have all added to the merit of how Love sometimes masquerades "just for fun" while those who have love seek to share it, only to find it was all a charade.

Very flighty people without real feelings. Thanks for a visit to that world.

You say so much in so few words here, Demas. An excellent poem on the fickleness of love.

I think we've all been fooled a time or two, Demas. Very nice poem, very thoughtful, too.

Demas, I'm yet to understoot this four letter word 'love'. It seems really a dual. That's why partners or lovers can't tackle the challege before them and soon part ways! What then is love? Ignoring the ranting of my better half. Thanks for sharing.
