My Special Place

In loves contented afterglow

Through windows East I stare,

There stand the ghostly eucalypt

Leaves swaying in the air.

You softly whisper, "I love you"

Your fingers stroke my skin.

Replying with, "I love you too"

I gently cup your chin.

The magpie chirps a serenade

Within the snow white gums.

Dark clouds gather in the West

And distant thunder drums.

The land has seen effects of drought

The grass is brown and dry.

With promise of approaching rains

Trees reach towards the sky.

A sexy smile invades your mouth,

I gaze into your eyes.

My lips touch yours in soft caress,

I love your breathy sighs.

A storm bird in the bottle brush

Calls to the Summer rain.

The clouds soon gather overhead,

Blue skies turn to grey.

You pull my body close to yours,

I relax in your embrace.

Who cares about the pending storm,

I'm in my special place.

Thoughts Of You

A shooting star bright in the sky

A dew drop on a flower

A graceful eagle soaring high

A gentle Summer shower.

The taste of biscuits from a tin

The smell of fresh baked bread

The feel of silk against my skin

The pillow 'neath my head.

A sunset on a cloudy day

Its watercolor hues

A sailboat drifting on the bay

All bring me thoughts of you.

A smile from you excites me

A kiss makes my blood race

Loving you fulfills my dreams

Like rocketing through space.

My Love For You

Every day the sun shines

So does my love for you.

Sometimes a cloud may appear

Or the occasional storm may develop.

But just as the sun is ever present behind the clouds,

My love for you remains constant,

Always constant and growing stronger by the day.

When the daylight fades and night descends

My love still beams through the darkness,

Silent, but with hidden strength.

Just as the moon controls the tides,

So my love for you controls my actions.

It is always there, day or night,

Like my strong heart beating within,

And without which I would surely die.

Loving you makes me glad to be alive,

And if you keep loving me

I want to live forever,

Especially in your heart.

The Ageless Flower

I love you more with every breath,

With every minute passed.

My love grows deeper by the hour,

By days, by weeks, by months.

With each year that speeds on by,

And age creeps up so fast,

It seems that you're immune to time,

Your beauty's never lost.

I think that in some future time,

Say twenty years from now,

I'll gaze upon a face so young

It reminds me of a flower.

A flower that's just begun to bloom,

So beautiful and proud,

That stands so bright among the weeds

Like sunshine through a cloud.

Great poetry Jodah, especially "My Love For You". I am thrilled !

John Hansen (author) from Gondwana Land on July 18, 2015:

What a lovely comment Missy, I am humbled. You have no need to feel unworthy. As a new poet you are already writing wonderful pieces. I have read the comments of others on your hubs and most are impressed. I used to write poetry in my teens and early twenties..then lost the inspiration again until about five years ago. I do hope you can learn some thing from my poems though, and just keep writing.

Missy Smith from Florida on July 18, 2015:

What can I say Jodah...just great f'ing poetry!!! And your wife is a very lucky lady. :)

I feel so unworthy, as I try to figure out my path in poetry. It's still so new for me. The good news is, I think being here on hubpages and reading other poems from some great poets as yourself, I may just learn some things. I sure hope so. You Rock!

John Hansen (author) from Gondwana Land on February 14, 2015:

You have a good day too.

Jodah.

Nellieanna Hay from TEXAS on October 07, 2013:

Beautiful love poems, Jodah. I'm especially fond of the first one, and with the way it sways from nature's beauty one verse, then back to the intimacy of your loving, then back again, - like the pulse of life itself. Just gorgeous. I like all four of these enchanting poems. There is something so eternally sweet and mellow, along with the passion of moments in them.

Oh, and the illustrations are fantastic! Their lights radiate and pour forth the love being expressed! And the saying on the rose is timelessly true!

Eiddwen from Wales on October 07, 2013:

Beautiful poetry and images; voted up and thanking you for sharing this true gem with us all.

Enjoy your day and I look forward to so many more.

Eddy.
