The Three Gifts of Christmas: A Poem

Tim is a freelance writer, poet, artist and storyteller. He always tries to find and include lessons for everyone in his writing.

The Gift of This Life

God gave us the gift of this life and a life we are yet to live. There is also the life we have yet to come when this life is done. A life with the Savior free of this world's discord. A life where peace will be the ultimate reward

The Gift of a Home

The gift of a home not of this world but Heaven above. A home which is filled with the Fathers love. A home built by Jesus with his own two hands A home we'll share with others, in God's Promised land

The Gift of a Family

The gift of a family tied together by the Blood of the risen Savor, who is Jesus Christ. A family together now called the church. A family called to tell others of mankind’s rebirth. A family who together rejoice and sing of the Christmas miracle and the joy which it brings.

Start with a poem

When I think of the first Christmas,
so long long ago
I think of Mary and Joseph,
what did they know

I think of a stable,
a manger for a bed
Where the baby Jesus,
laid down his sweet head

I think of the shepherds
in the meadow at night
When the skies opened up
in a heavenly light

I think of the angels who announced
the news of Jesus' birth
God in the flesh
had come down to this earth

I think of the wise men seeking,
numbered maybe three
Who followed a star
to a Bethlehem street

I think of the gifts they offered
gold, frankincense and myrrh
Gifts meant for a king,
of a royal worth

But of that first Christmas
so long,long ago
I also think of the gifts
which God on mankind bestowed

Gifts we didn't ask for
but gifts God freely gave
To a sinful world
in his heart he wanted to save
