A simple knavishness of a fellow

this newcomer to the scene,

Yet nothing more so fancy

much like an imagery from a dream.

For he was talking casually to a dragon

of good old days and things gone by,

Slowly finishing his chiseled masterpiece

while the Dragon eyed with a wry.

The whole throne restored fully

to all sparkling grand brand new,

Not a trace of the burn or destruction

that had long since ensued.

Furnishing fully re-assembled

even the marvellous marbled span,

Both Gods and Dragon complimented with wonder

at such an accomplished artisan.

Inexperienced this chap may seem then

because youth he was at a glance,

Wearing plain clothes and sandals

all bound neatly with rawhide strands.

He grip his chisel with dexterous ease

a wooden mallet struck just right,

Athene's gift hits home his mark

perfections testament brought to light.

And as the finishing touches made good

and the rest finally all done,

Sprawled a stone doppelganger

lifeless greyish and dun.

A lance at its throat protruded

smeared with real immortal blood,

The same weapon that was carted

by that lucky Diocletian stud.

The dragon recalled his earlier ordeals

a goody long year had past,

That knight Sir George was unconscious

but the spear still struck and pierce.

Carried off by momentum's push

it truly punctured with such force,

Fire breathing days effectively crushed

all past now, reminded itself with a hush.

That ambitious Bard King had bred

such a complex chaotic seed,

What a fool of a man

such dedication such greed.

He would have been long dead

had not the Priestess intervened,

Perhaps it was all a setup

yet the Dragon finally now concede.

So much curious still

are the roles of the Gods,

Distant cousin in genealogy

yet too lost in the wads.

Their intervention so timely

so claimed it was divine,

No wonder all the humans

turn to their designs.

But this dragon now contented

of the endings that be,

Leave humans to humans

and save himself further tragedy.

It has eaten and beaten and burnt

so much of humanity,

That it had made such a bad reputation

and eternal unwanted animosity.

Authors Notes

Athene or Athena is the Goddess of arts, skill and crafts. George Dioclete is probably St George the Dragon Slayer in the Diocletian era. Also, I have made some changes to mention only the lead characters as the story is fast forwarded to a wrap up ending. Further explanations will be revealed in the next installment.

Up and awesome again. With cartons alongside, these could be popular with many, as lord or the rings and other films brought this style back.

Socially sharing for all.
