Journey of Life Part 2 of 3
Determination
The time has come for us to change
Where life of lapse and lax must end
Make way for duty, responsibilities and obligation
Toddlers were not
Nor are we excused to be acting the lot
Give ourselves a chance to become what we want
For how can we earn respect if we are not respectable
For how can we earn trust if we are untrustworthy
For how can we earn love if we are unlovable
Born in the image of god
Given free will, the greatest gift the freedom of choice
The ability to reach as the heavens above
But be aware of the temptations that lure
The consequences of aspiration
Less we trap ourselves by our own web of deception
Pride and ambition
A bane right from its inception
An evil thing that lead to suffering by our own action
We are the future of this world
The hope and promise of this nation
Happiness and contentment is what we are after
We reach for now with God’s good grace
A dream not impossible to achieve
For we are the greatest creation

@frogyfish - That stanza is my personal belief in life. Thanks for dropping by.

Thought I had picked your third 'stanza' as my favorite just as I read it, then had to add several more. You have beautifully unique expressive qualities in truth!

@alocsin - We all encounter that in our live at one point or another. What is important is that we come out of it with values that would make us better. I am guilty that certain time in my life I blame my parents now I know what they only want is what is good for me.

I think a lot of the time people succumb to the forces around them and then blame others for their misfortune. Your poem reminds us that we have the power within to make a difference. Voting this Up and Beautiful.

Awesome hub. This hub is the essence of life. I enjoy coming back to this hub from time to time. The meaning of life is understanding and appreciating our creation. We should seek to look for qualities within ourselves that we ask of others. Great poem.

@jeyaramd - Yup. I agree. If you want change you should start with yourself only then can you influence others. Thanks and I am very happy that you like it.

I know its a cliche, but I can't help myself, "Be the change you wish to see in this world". It embodies great teachings. However, I admit that its easier said that done. I admire the fact that you have touched on this quality in your writing. Great choice of words. It flows so beautifully. Thanks for one more feather in the cap. Great job.
