"Until It's Gone" by Linkin Park
I didn't understand when
you turned your back on me.
I couldn't comprehend how
my love you couldn't see.
I shouldn't obsessively think
of you and I till the end.
I didn't randomly find
a love that wouldn't bend.
I wasn't the only one
mutual love in a friend.
I fretted what had changed
that a loving hand couldn't lend.
I eventually heard it from you
my words cut down to the bone.
I refused to just ignore
the fact my words turned you to stone.
I frantically will fix
what quickly I broke.
I definitely will fight it
retreat refusal I stroke.
Give me some time
till I fix the fault in me.
For this time I claim
fault that you made me see.

St. Paul wrote about the tongue being the most unruly member of our bodies and you have shown in your evocative poem how a few hasty words can ruin a good relationship. If only we could control our tongues!

Outstanding poem. As an individualist I hope this is play on opposites. Thank you

I take blame for one part, I know what the other part is and that is for him to figure out:) Thank you for commenting. I appreciate your taking a moment to read it.

It hurts me so to watch someone to take full blame for something. I don't know the other side of the story, but I know there are two sides...always! What a great emotional poem! Voted up and shared!!!
