Many people moved to America to fulfill the American Dream. Those who came to America know what they were looking for, while those who have lived there their whole life do not quite have the full vision of what the American Dream is. Some people chase after the American Dream while others may not believe it exists. Every person believes in something different than the person right next to them. The American Dream may be something different for every individual, however, everyone is working toward the same end goal.
It is important for everyone to understand each other. Whether they fully or partially understand each other. When a person knows what another person is talking about they are able to have a more civil discussion. In the article “American Dream” by Adam Barone, he states the following:
The American Dream is the belief that anyone, regardless of where they were born or what class they were born into, can attain their own version of success in a society where upward mobility is possible for everyone. The American Dream is achieved through sacrifice, risk-taking, and hard work, rather than by chance. (Barone 1)
This description of the American Dream is able to show the audience that this dream has an extremely broad definition. This broad definition allows every person to delve deeper into their own perception of this dream. Not every person will go to the same depths. Some people may make this dream very specific to their individual life, while others keep a broader spectrum of what they would want to happen.
Personally, having the American Dream with a broader spectrum enables life to take different paths than those that were thought. No one is able to tell exactly how their life is going to go. Everyday someone’s life gets turned upside down, metaphorically speaking. While many people are constantly watching their life changing around them, others seem to have more luck when it comes to keeping life on the path that they wanted. Those who keep life on the path are able to plan what will happen in their life several years down the line. Those that struggle to keep life on the path are not as able to see themselves several years ahead. The American Dream is able to fit every lifestyle that is known to mankind.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on December 09, 2020:
Awe.. the American Dream.
It is true that it is different for everyone.
I do think that alot of people who have lived here all their live sometimes don't quite grasp it until they are much older and wiser.
Life goes on...planning ahead is nice, but accepting each day is better.
Be proud of everything you achieve.
