I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree
On the Nature of Trees
The wonder is that we can see these trees and not wonder more. Ralph Waldo Emerson
What did the tree learn from the earth
to be able to talk with the sky?
Except during the nine months before he draws his first breath, no man manages his affairs as well as a tree does. George Bernard Shaw
If you would know strength and patience, welcome the company of trees. Hal Borland
They are beautiful in their peace, they are wise in their silence. They will stand after we are dust. They teach us, and we tend them. Galeain ip Altiem MacDunelmor
The oaks and the pines, and their brethren of the wood, have seen so many suns rise and set, so many seasons come and go, and so many generations pass into silence, that we may well wonder what "the story of the trees" would be to us if they had tongues to tell it, or we ears fine enough to understand. Anonymous
There are rich counsels in the trees. Herbert P. Horne
I was raised by the song
Of the murmuring grove
And loving I learned
Of the infinite variety of fruits which spring from the bosom of the earth, the trees of the wood are the greatest in dignity. Susan Fenimore Cooper
A seed hidden in the heart of an apple is an orchard invisible. Welsh Proverb
It will beggar a doctor to live where orchards thrive. Spanish proverb
The best part of happiness is the pines. Terri Guillemets
Of all man's works of art, a cathedral is greatest.
A vast and majestic tree is greater than that.
Henry Ward Beecher
For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver. Martin Luther
Trees are the earth's endless effort to speak to the listening heaven. Rabindranath Tagore
Keep a green tree in your heart and perhaps a singing bird will come. Chinese Proverb

Of Trees and God
God is the experience of looking at a tree and saying, "Ah!" Joseph Campbell
The groves were God's first temples. William Cullen Bryant
I said to the almond tree, "Friend, speak to me of God," and the almond tree blossomed. Nikos Kazantzakis
The first guy who came up with the concept of religion was sitting out under a tree. I'm sure of that. Tom T. Hall
Whoever does not love trees, does not love God. Elder Amphilochios of Patmos
The trees are God's great alphabet:
With them He writes in shining green
Across the world His thoughts serene.
A few minutes ago every tree was excited, bowing to the roaring storm, waving, swirling, tossing their branches in glorious enthusiasm like worship. But though to the outer ear these trees are now silent, their songs never cease. Every hidden cell is throbbing with music and life, every fiber thrilling like harp strings, while incense is ever flowing from the balsam bells and leaves. No wonder the hills and groves were God's first temples, and the more they are cut down and hewn into cathedrals and churches, the farther off and dimmer seems the Lord himself. John Muir
Of Trees and Man
It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit. Robert Louis Stevenson
Why are there trees I never walk under
But large and melodious thoughts descend upon me?
I willingly confess to so great a partiality for trees as tempts me to respect a man in exact proportion to his respect for them. James Russell Lowell
If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen. Henry David Thoreau
I am not bound for any public place,
but for ground of my own
where I have planted vines and orchard trees,
and in the heat of the day climbed up
into the healing shadow of the woods.
The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. William Blake
Trees are poems that earth writes upon the sky,
We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness.
They kill good trees to put out bad newspapers. James G. Watt
Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out the trees, then names the streets after them. Bill Vaughn
I think that I shall never see
A billboard lovely as a tree.
Perhaps, unless the billboards fall,
I'll never see a tree at all.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money. Cree Proverb
God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods. But he cannot save them from fools. John Muir
Of Planting Trees
Acts of creation are ordinarily reserved for gods and poets. To plant a pine, one need only own a shovel. Aldo Leopold
He that plants trees loves others beside himself. Thomas Fuller
Other holidays repose on the past.
Arbor Day proposes the future.
J. Sterling Morton
The great French Marshall Lyautey once asked his gardener to plant a tree. The gardener objected that the tree was slow growing and would not reach maturity for 100 years. The Marshall replied, "In that case, there is no time to lose; plant it this afternoon!"
John F. Kennedy
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now. Chinese Proverb

provideth a kindness for many generations, and
faces that he hath not seen shall bless him.
Henry Van Dyke
Give fools their gold, and knaves their power; let fortune's bubbles rise and fall; who sows a field, or trains a flower, or plants a tree, is more than all. John Greenleaf Whittier
My heart is glad, my heart is high
With sudden ecstasy;
I have given back, before I die,
Some thanks for every lovely tree
That dead men grew for me.
V. H. Friedlaender

it's so inspiring... i so love trees because they are the one that protects us from sunlight and aside from that, they are very much helpful to our environment. without them, we cannot inhale fresh and good air. cutting down trees means cutting down hope to our community.
