Poems From the Jersey Shore Vol 20 - Time for a Return

Timothy is a Christian who enjoys creating visual art and writing. He has a B.S. in Psychology.

Welcome

They say all good things must come to an end but I was thinking lately...why? Sure, I thought it was time to stop Poems From the Jersey Shore but I was wrong. I missed the challenge of trying to write poems about the world around me. I switched to poems of faith which I will always write. I decided to bring back Poems from Jersey Shore to push out the old year and bring in the new. So here is the first new installment of Poems from the Jersey Shore. I hope you enjoy them. As always please, please let me let know the poems you want me to write.

I’ve Got Nothing To Say

In life there are people who want you to change but in truth you are who you are. There is no need to change.

I've got nothing to say
I offer no excuse
I was made this way
It's how I'm gonna stay, this way
Like it or not I'm not gonna change
For you or anyone else
I have to live with myself

I've come a long way in life
Feeling I'm always behind
For years I've looked for what's lost
Hoping someday to find
I grew up the hard way
Looking for friendship everyday
I grew up the hard way
Finding life is what others say
I grew up the hard way

I've got nothing to say
I'm at a loss for words
For years I tried to talk, to show you who I am
But it's like you never heard
That's the way it is
Was the little game you played
But did you ever once think
It hurt those things you said

I've come a long way in life
Feeling I'm always behind
For years I've looked for what's lost
Hoping someday to find
I grew up the hard way
Looking for friendship everyday
I grew up the hard way
Finding life is what others say
I grew up the hard way

The past shapes the future, I know it's true
I grew up the hard way, how about you

A Photo

Say Cheese
Say Cheese
Give me a smile
Say Cheese

A small little photo
Creates lifetime memories
Which can be viewed
For years to come
Say cheese

So don't begrudge
When people
Ask for a photo
Just smile if you please
Say cheese
Give me a smile
And say cheese

A photo is a memory
in a three by five
or even a wallet size

Say cheese
Give me a smile
And say cheese

So don't begrudge
When people
Ask for a photo
Just smile if you please
Say cheese
Give me a smile
And say cheese

Money

What can be said about money? People who no money want some, People who have money want more. In the end however money will not save you. It just gets left behind when you die. Here is a short poem about that very thing.

To the rich whose money
Is their heart
Be warned, be warned

Your money may
Give you pleasure
Your money may
Give you fame
Your money may
Give you power
Your money may
Up your game

But in the end
Your money can’t save
From what is to come
After this life is over
When all is said and done

To the rich whose money
Is their heart
Be warned, be warned

The Other Side of Life

On the other side of life were our hopes and dreams but when we reach the other side of life we find things changed. Here is a little poem about the other side of life.

On the other side of my life
Was a different me
One with hopes and dreams
Then what came to be

A life filled with
Spread across the years
A life full of great joy
Before all the tears

Livin in the present
It’s really hard to see

Now I’m just living in
the Shadows
Of those bygone days
Wishing, hoping I could relive
My former ways

But I know
What is past is gone
Can’t relive one second
Gotta keep movin on

A Symphony Of Words

A symphony of words
Is playing in my mind
Made of little bits of
Poems and stories
Still not written

A symphony of noise
Waiting to get out
Find the written page
For their unveiling

Whether they find their
Way out or not

I will still go on
I bear no loss
For words

Love I write
An open mind for words
A mad venture I know
but love in words

Is only what I know
I still believe
There is more to write

More words to spill
Onto the paper
Into the hearts
Of those who read

A symphony of words
Is playing in my mind
Made of little bits of
Poems and stories
Still not written

I hope you read
I hope you love
The symphony of words
As they come, as they roll
Along the paper or
On the screen
