Why am I insecure?

Honestly, I think it's normal and a part of growing. Every now and then you can be insecure about your body type, the way you walk, your acne, your nose shape or even your voice, your job title, financial state, where you stay and etcetera. However, what is not healthy is when you choose to let your insecurities define you hence they control you.

What causes insecurities?

Insecurities can be caused by many factors. This factors include:

  • When you compare yourself to other people.
  • When you care about what people think about you.
  • A low self-esteem.
  • Bad company. In addition, being around people that want to change you or constantly judge the way you are.
  • Self hate.
  • Social media.
  • How you were raised.
  • Traditional or societal norms.

Moving on the way you think about yourself is very important and honestly, if you are out here worried about what people think you are adding onto your insecurities. People will always talk about you whether you like it or not. So you really need to sit down with yourself and ask yourself:

  1. Who am I really?
  2. What defines me?
  3. What do I believe in?
  4. What makes me sad?
  5. What makes me happy?
  6. What do I want to achieve in my life?
  7. How do I plan to achieve this in my life?

Such simple and basic questions can make you realize so much more about yourself and can help you set boundaries and not only help you remain focused on yourself but also help you know what exactly is bad energy and how can i get rid of that bad energy.

Loving yourself is so important. In this day and age of social media, unfortunately, people tend to self-doubt a a lot. Mostly because of comparisons with their peers. I love how you effectively explained the absolute and essential need to love yourself first before anyone else.
