You are supposed to be scared
To run away from me in fear
Not try and nibble on my ear
Why is it I who feels ensnared?
This isn’t the way it’s supposed to be
Damn girl why aren’t you afraid of me?
Look deep into my eyes
Can you not see the danger around you?
Listen to my warning rare but true
It is certainly not wise
To press against my cold skin
Invoking thoughts of forgotten sin
I am more beast than man
Resisting the urge to kill
To taste your blood and watch it spill
Run sweet one while you can
This odd restraint will only last so long
My willpower has never been this strong
Your breath full of life
Risking your soul for a kiss
A taste of forbidden bliss
You are walking strife
A danger I’ve not known
Refusing to leave me alone!
Night after night
You follow me around
Worse than any hunter and his hound
Yet I am not sick of the sight
Of the way your skin glows
Or how your hair flows
In fact I am quite taken
By the swell of your hips
And the taste of your lips
But I am no good man fallen
Evil from the moment I was born
To darkness only my soul is sworn
You will not live to see another day
The trust in your eyes such a waste
As your blood I finally taste
Yet words of love still you say
Warming my frozen heart
Tearing my evil plans apart
So drink now and please hush
As darkness takes your light
My blood turning you into a creature of the night
as into the darkness we rush
Seduced by your light gone forever
Not ready for what you have become, my hearts master

Great! I'm a vampire. Seriously. Some people dont believe me... but i know all vampire secrets... waiting for the thirst of the night
K.A.E Grove (author) from Australia on February 17, 2011:
Ah its the mystery, the taboo, and don't forget the never ageing thing, that means no wrinkles or grey hair, huge plus right there, so lots of reason to hunt down a sexy vampire to ensnare :)
So glad that you liked this one as well :)
BenWritings from Save me from, Tennessee on February 16, 2011:
Awesome poem. Why do the ladies always want to be seduced and cursed to eternal damnation by sexy vampires? ;]
The hunter becomes the prey.
Great writing, truly enjoyed this one
K.A.E Grove (author) from Australia on February 14, 2011:

I have had a fascination with vampires for years, before I started reading paranormal romance, the dark edge of mystery surrounded by horror has always held a huge appeal to me. I am glad you like this poem, vampires should have a darker edge then what we are getting in our films lately, Thanks for stopping by :)
Desadi from Marietta, Ga on January 05, 2011:
Yeah I think the vampire falling in love is often way over done even though I myself write like that sometimes I like the darker edge. It was definitely worth the read thanks!
K.A.E Grove (author) from Australia on January 04, 2011:
I am thrilled that you liked this, not every vampire wants to fall in love...
thanks for stopping in :)
Desadi from Marietta, Ga on January 04, 2011:
I love the seductive desire of this. True to the vampire's inner conflict.
K.A.E Grove (author) from Australia on January 02, 2011:
thank you so so much for your encouragement ((hug)) I have so much fun writing these darker poems of mine, but don't wish to become redundant or worse boring,
So I will venture out a little and see where it takes me but no matter how far my writing may travel I have a feeling that it will always return to these dark roots of horror and paranormal,
Thank you so much for kind words, they mean a lot!
epigramman on January 01, 2011:
....yes in a return to a classic - please keep writing about horror in all of its blood curdling glory because I think it's your poetic calling - but at the same a great writer (which you are) always moves around and tries different things and different genres and moods.
Either way I will always come back .....
K.A.E Grove (author) from Australia on December 29, 2010:

4elements, Glad you liked it, Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know what you thought :)
vampires have always been a fascination of mine, so it comes naturally to me that they appear so often in my writing, I am Thrilled that you like my poems so much, Thank you!
ah so nice to have you call in again, I was afraid these vampire poems of mine may have overstayed their welcome, glad to hear otherwise thank you so much as always your comment has made my day :)
Indeed its not wise to push a vampire past his limits :) I am so glad to hear that you liked my poem, it is very much a case of the poor evil vampire being unwillingly seduced, so nice to have you stopping in again, thank you
Doug Turner Jr. on December 28, 2010:
Interesting. Instead of the seducer, the vampire seems to be the seducee; pushing the girl away and warning her of ignorance. She obviously doesn't heed his warning and, in the end, vampires will be vampires.
epigramman on December 28, 2010:
..well you know the epigramman always loves this poetic genre - especially when it comes from the dark corridors of your mind - you excel in this style of writing - it seems to be your poetic calling and I am glad I came calling in order to read it - bravo!!!
samiaali on December 28, 2010:
