Happy Soul's Day to Rochelle Ann De Zoysa. Sunday's Inspiration 14

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

" Let not your Heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. In my father's house are many mansions ... I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am, there ye may be also. … peace I give to you, my peace I leave with you, not as the world giveth do I give." John 14:1, 27,28.

We March in Tune to Society’s Norm. A Regular Sonnet

We march in tune to society’s norms,

A bane when we step out, of its vision.

Make enemies of friends; boisterous storms,

Walking a path, that enhances friction.

He said that he loved, but wanted to test,

Through passion, the chords of her dignity.

Modest she was; his advance did arrest,

Marriage for her, a meaningful key.

From comrades; contacts, did ridicule smear,

She willed to avoid; to compromise make.

His mind was one-pointed, this pearl so dear,

All that he wanted, but never could take.

We march in tune to society’s norms,

Stripped bare of decorum, virtue and charm.

Rochelle's first book launch

With Love, Anything at All Can Happen.

Sparrows soar gracefully, laughing with the sun,

Their tale, a pair of rusted sonnets, told near firesides

On autumnal evenings, of the glories of life.

She speaks of Love, that elusive rascal, I’ve

Tried a million times to grasp. Alas! It was all in vain.

He kisses her cheeks; the candescent moon rests on

Their radiant faces, as the stars, dancing in their hearts

Of beauty, sing lullabies to the heavenly minstrels.

Within the perennials, camellias blush; a mantle of rays

Adorn their sweet robes of eloquence, as my soul sings,

Steeped in the Light of heaven; the grandeur of Paradise.

The sparrows hug, rejoice in the freedom of boundless space.

My Heart weeps rain, its drops so pure, as to dowse even the very fire

Of Hades. With Love, anything at all can happen. Didn’t I tell You?

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 8th February, 2020.

The church is important in her life

Light of the Rose

O Rose, your snow-white petal is a gift of grace,

Kissing the sweet sanctum of my Heart;

Your radiant glow -- the aspiration of countless humans.

Your thorns remind me, of the Light at the turn of adversity,

Your redolence to cherish, the sweet sacrifice of Love.

In you, lies the secret of my Valentine,

In you, my Heart dances and swoon with delight.

I pay obeisance to your peerless grandeur, as

I hear the melody of your lyrical songs;

Feel the resonance of your natural flute.

O rose, my sweet, sweeter, sweetest Joy,

Your wafts empower me with their charm.

You have come into my spirit and kissed

My soul, and I cry unashamedly with tears of bliss.

Kissing my breath with your resplendence,

You have placed your petals, on a bosom flooded

With longing; I wish to adorn myself with thy charisma.

Come! Let us ornament our beauty, with the breath of roses;

Sing praises to their immaculate purity;

Dancing in rhythm to their symphony of Delight.

Rochelle Ann De Zoysa

I have known Rochelle Ann De Zoysa for many years. She is an avid reader and writer and a lover of truth and simplicity, as is revealed in her constant love for Jesus the Christ and her childlike artistic touches and compositions for Mr Pooh.

Rochelle is kind, empathetic and a creative writer, with a most loving generosity of spirit. She loves her friends and is usually happy to discuss certain aspects of her life and share her work. I know that she has given both Bill Holland and myself, copies of her wonderful book of poetry.

Rochelle is very close to the church and to her mom and family members. A shy girl, she has encountered some very difficult and challenging experiences in life, but through prayer, through God's Grace, she has emerged stronger than she ever was.

In this day and age, it is often commendable, to see one standing up for what one actually believes and in spite of peer pressure, Rochelle has remained resolute in her virtues, etiquette and decorum.

Rochelle has a simplicity of dress and demeanour, which is most appropriate for a devout soul, and I'm so happy, that in spite of occasional setbacks, she maintains an unflinching devotion to God and family. She remains a very filial daughter and apart from her drawings and writings, which she finds especially therapeutic, she has stayed in close communication with mom and Jesus.

Rochelle is one of the few kind-hearted souls, who has commented on my Hubs and has actually dedicated Hubs to me. Gratitude Rochelle, for your thoughtfulness and steadfastness in your love of our Lord; in overcoming adversity and in dealing with the vicissitudes of earthly life, as best you can. Glory be, Alleyuia! - Manatita 9th February, 2020

"God, the Absolute, is the Light of this world. He has many favourite children and Jesus, the Christ, is one of His favourite darlings. Not that he is not impartial, but the Father loves best all those who are in harmony with His Will and Consciousness … all those who seek to lighten His burden - as you and I are trying to do, even if on a smaller scale - and for this he remains eternal Gratitude - His middle name." - Manatita

Yes. Six voted. Religion is never a problem. God is Love and Love is in all. So there is a place for whatever exists in God or Love. A bit like a tree and it's branches. God is the tree and Religion are His branches. Not separate but part and parcel of the life-tree, for we are one.

Lovely sentiment, my Friend.

Trooly on February 10, 2020:

As always, you have created a great tribute article. The photos of Rochelle are lovely.

manatita44 (author) from london on February 09, 2020:

Ah, Donna,

You're so sweet!

I am not happy unless I can create. The meta-physical poet tries to bring something new to the table. They say in poetry circles, that no one writes like me. I have about 800 poems and I wish to leave something beautiful to serve others as my legacy from Love -- the Ultimate Ordainer.

My deepest gratitude to you for recognising these lines for their loftiness. Glory be!

Donna Rayne from Sparks, NV on February 09, 2020:

manatit44- "Come! Let us ornament our beauty, with the breath of roses;" Oh how beautiful this line in your poetry has touched my heart. You are an excellent poet! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

Gratitude, my Bro.

I visited you twice but did not see anything. I'm sending you something though. Just do a Sonnet - a wee square poem of 14 lines, free-style, or something that won't eat into your time. Maybe Sunny can help. Check your mail.

I note and appreciate your love and fondness for Rochelle.

Ioannis Arvanitis from Greece, Almyros on February 09, 2020:

We are not of this world, but we come here to inseminate it with seeds of Love and Kindness so that Paradise will grow once again. Your poetry, and especially these poems, remind me of that, my brother! And people like Rochelle are the proof. Thank you for being a constant song of His sweet fragrance, awakening the true memories! Blessings and Love to Rochelle!
