Haiku - From Grey Sky to Blue

haiku-winter

England is covered in snow! Quite a contrast after returning from a wonderful holiday in South Africa. At Sungubala, an amazing place in the Drakensberg Mountains, I had a gogga (bug) fly into my ear! In there it felt and sounded like a motor bike. And on the Vaal Dam, I spent an adventurous day on a yacht named Splash. Great memories which will perhaps explain some of the following haiku.

haiku-winter

a glimpse good morning

i turn around and you’re gone

footprints in the snow

haiku-winter

crunching on the path

white boardwalk beneath my feet

winter wonderland

haiku-winter

the wise sage returns

as wisdom relates once more

to giving ones heart

haiku-winter

fly into my ear

and make yourself comfortable

in sungubala

haiku-winter

oncoming water

the wind from approaching skies

connecting with flash

haiku-winter

early morning sun

lights up majestic mountain

birds cheer the event

haiku-winter

loud silent mountain

sitting under bright lit skies

the joy of nature

Russ...My sensitive and talented friend...only you would compose a haiku to a bug...As always, I enjoyed your haiku out loud with my morning coffee...I hold each haiku as a stand-alone declaration of life lived in the moment...

Hope you are enjoying your very white Christmas, and my best to you and yours for a joyous and safe holiday season...Larry
