Battling Corona; A Poetic Prayer

We all go through 'stuff'; great stuff, good stuff, bad stuff, sad stuff... whatever we are going through, we never give up, never give in

Praying Us Through

I remember the first time I heard it's ugly name, seems an eternity ago

Conflicting reports and observations, so much we didn't yet know

We all did what was asked of us, trusting the science, we each did our part

All while trying to keep it together, keeping our chins up and trying not to fall apart

We've bobbed and we've weaved so many obstacles, but continued on, with life

But what of those who couldn't - too much anxiety, so much strife

They couldn't overcome the obstacles, hard to keep a chin up, too great a cost

The world weighed so heavy on them, with no silver lining in sight, all seemed lost

We've lost more to heartache, sadness and depression, than this damned virus could ever take!

We need to fight to move past this, to get back to normal, for everyone's sake

May this awful plague soon be far behind us, just another part of our past,

but with, all of us made stronger, {in spite of it} we have the fortitude, we are built to last

Bless and Keep Us

May God bless us and keep us all, may he heal each troubled place

As we all regroup and rebound, may we experience Amazing Grace

This virus has taken too much from us, we can't let it have any more!

Bringing us healing, a mighty return, all of us made stronger, than ever before

Because it has already taken so much from us and because we can't let it have any more -

We cannot allow for it to be used against us, back to normal is the goal, even better than before

This should be everyone's goal, to get back up and in the game...nothing less will do

I am determined and strong in my faith, I will continue praying and pray that you will too!

The President is back and seemingly stronger than before. Not only is he back on the campaign trail.....but he's dancing on the campaign trail.

Love it!

Thank you Lord for seeing our President back to the People's House.

May this life-interrupting virus soon be.....at our mercy!

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on October 04, 2020:

Thank you Yves!

Who knew...Trump haters would double down to the point of wishing for his death.

l guess I shouldn't be surprised. When hate/evil/bitterness, is all that keep some individuals going. They, individually, need to deal with those demons.

But, those praying him through this, supporting him through positive messaging and spontaneous rallies/prayer vigils far surpass the ugliness.

I know the love shown the President and First Lady is the best medicine...now, as you've suggested, if he'll only rest up and fully recover!

Thank you for your words and for sharing Maximo with everyone....he is something else! :-)

God Bless America!!

Yves on October 04, 2020:

A heartfelt prayer, AB, and much appreciated by me. If we have learned anything about the president, he will rest as little as possible. But I pray that he goes to bed reasonably early and gets a full eight hours for once in his life. He is going to need it when his quarantine is over.

Yet I pray he recovers fully and that he is blessed to lead this nation into further greatness. May he be given the full protection of God to withstand the deadly arrows of the enemy, the swamp, and the socialists who would dismantle this country and bring us down forever. Because, as Maximo Alvarez wisely stated at the RNC, (paraphrase) "If America is lost, there is no place else to go."

Mr. Alvarez was a Cuban refugee. His speech at the RNC was powerful. It is people like him that understand Trump's mission more than many born and bred Americans.

I did not approve your comment, because it was all about promoting you....if you have something to add to the conversation on the topic presented, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks Brenda!

A great turning back to God is the right prescription, for the healing of this Nation to begin. Our President is a man of faith, it will sustain him through this difficult time.

Thanks for stopping by.

A gracious poem for the President of the United States.

I do pray for our country each & every night. We are in desperate need.

I am not a Trump fan though...he lost my respect awhile back.

But your words are good.

A B Williams (author) from Central Florida on October 03, 2020:
