Gifts for Sisters- Sisters Quotes

Wondering how sisters quotes can be used as gifts for sisters? Find out how.  There are many wonderful gifts that one can give to sisters. Depending on their interests, you can buy her favorite stuff or create your own gift that you know she will love. One of my personal favorite gifts would be to express how special the person is in my life.

Creative Gifts for Sisters

  • Make a scrapbook of the funny and wonderful moments you’ve had together.
  • Come up with a video. Say a personal message to her on the video. Or you can make a slideshow of your favorite photos from childhood to the present.
  • Write a hub as a tribute to honor you sister. Special thanks to Ms Chievous for this request. I believe she is going to write a hub to her sister for her birthday this year. Watch out for that.
  • Design and make your own inspirational book. Tell your sister how special she is by sharing quotes or poems and writing your own message on each page.

I had an x-ray today and they found you in my heart.

The doctors said that if they took you out i would die

because i could not survive without such an amazing sister.

So there you will stay, as you always have from my birth to my death and beyond.

We will be together forever more.

rabita on September 30, 2011:

hi:) on December 08, 2010:

What a fantastic hub! I like all the tips that you have given. It's not about material gifts but heart warming gifts such as great memories and showing appreciation and affection.

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on December 04, 2010:

i scribble: Thank you so much for coming back. I had to go back and read your hub about your mother. Okay so now I'm teary eyed with your response there. Hugs and blessings to you always!

Sandy: Hope your sister loved whatever surprise you made :) Happy birthday to her.

Susan: Hey, nice to see you. Yes, that will be a great hub to write about. Thanks for the lovely comment. Love and light. :)

Susan Zutautas from Ontario, Canada on December 04, 2010:

What a beautiful Hub! Thanks so much for writing it. Think I will go and to a hub about my sister in law who has inspired me to write so much in the past few years.

Sandy Jauregui from Sanger on July 15, 2010:

My sisters birthday is this month...I better get to work! :) Thanks for some great ideas! :))

i scribble on May 11, 2010:

I haven't forgotten this wonderful hub though it has been 5 months since I was first inspired by it. I will return to it again and again for ideas to honor my sisters and other special people in my life. I have written a hub as a tribute to my mom for mother's day. I hope you will check it out, since you helped inspire it! It is called My Extraordinary Mom: A True Story. I hope you like it. God bless!

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on March 31, 2010:

Top Health Spot: Thank you so much for your inspirational words. I will visit your website as soon as I can. I hope your daughters will love this hub and be closer to each other. Thank you for connecting with me here on Hubpages.

Top Health Spot on March 31, 2010:

Hi Ripplemaker, I have just started following you. That is one of the most touching Hub's I have read. I have 2 girls, they are grown up now and I wish they would become closer to each other. It's hard they are 5 years apart and are very different personalities. I will send them this Hub as a special gift from mom. I am one of 4 sisters myself. I only really write about health & wellness on my Hubs, that is the topic of my website Http:// But I find your Hub's to be healing and inspirational. Perhaps I will touch upon this subject on my own blog on my website. I'll be coming back often:)

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on December 16, 2009:

Peggy,it's wonderful to know that we still have "sisters" in the faces of our friends. It's a joy to have this wonderful experience. :) Many thanks for this comment :)

Cheeky Girl, an only child with so much love to give...beautiful words. Thanks :)

I scribble, I grinned at your comment and touched. I visualize for you this closeness you would want to have with your sisters. Yes, thank you for noting that these ideas could be used for other people in our lives... I do these things too for them. Thanks for sharing your heart. :)

i scribble on December 13, 2009:

As I read this wonderful hub, I felt I little envious of you--imagining the closeness you must share with your sisters. I was quite surprised to read at the end that you have no sisters! I was blessed with 3 sisters but we have allowed ourselves to grow apart. You have given me some ideas and inspiration to hopefully help bring us closer. And I love many of the quotes. These ideas could be used for moms and other special people in our lives as well. Thanks.

Cassandra Mantis from UK and Nerujenia on October 08, 2009:

I'm an only child, but I find that the gift of love is the best gift to have after the gift of life. I am touched! Awesome Hub, ripplemaker. You rock!

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on October 06, 2009:

Like you, I had no sister but some good friends that serve a similar purpose. You gathered such a wonderful collection of quotes! Good job!

Hi Sis Dottie: I'm glad those sister quotes brought out the "oh yes, that's true" feelings. LOL You are so lucky to have sisters. And I thank you dearly for being my sis online...I know one of these days our paths will cross. Watch out, you'll see. :D

Dr.S.P.PADMA PRASAD from Tumkur on August 08, 2009:

i saw this hub lately, but I can't but appreciate the original thoughts you have put in herre. These are really good ideas to follow

Lisa HW from Massachusetts on August 07, 2009:

Very nice Hub about sisters. I have one sister. The nice thing about a sister isn't so much that she knows to give you a scented candle as a gift - but that she knows which scent you're in the mood for at any given time of year.

NZUNG SERAPHINE on August 06, 2009:

This an interesting reminds me of my sisters especially now that iam far from home.iam expecting another hub from you and this time,it should be for brothers.what do you think?

Dottie1 from MA, USA on August 06, 2009:

I have 3 sisters, 1 older and 2 younger! (no brothers) I found a measure of truth which made me laugh in all these quotes you found on sisterhood.

My older sister made a memory book for me which I treasure to this day. It never gets put away and is one of the few things that gets dusted regularly, haha!

As you know Michelle/Ripplemaker, I adopted my younger sisters child when she was just 4 months old and is now in college. I have to say the greatest gift from my sisters is their time and financial support they have given me in the raising of their niece too! Thank you sisters very much, I owe you my life!

And then there is a very special bond between Taurean Sisters who have never met but no less have a sisterly bond, yes that is you Sis Michelle. In appreciation, I thank you dearly and send you lots of love across the miles :)

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 06, 2009:

Charia: Sol, having no biological sisters have its advantages too you know (hehehe) but I also know having a sister has its perks and joys as well. Well, friends as sisters are pretty good to have. We are blessed. ;)

Charia Samher on August 06, 2009:

Oh so sad, I don't have a biological sister, the good thing is I have a lot of friends which I consider as my sisters too. I remember back in highshool that a floral hanky as Christmas/bday gift will do and in college exchanging friendship poems was greater than any material stuff that we received from each other.

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 05, 2009:

Hi maggs, your comment gave my heart a lift. Thanks! :-)

maggs224 from Sunny Spain on August 05, 2009:

An excellent hub made me realise I have not been in touch with my younger brother in a while will try to put that right. thanks

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 05, 2009:

Doodlelyn: We are the same..wishing I have a sister too. :-) And like you grateful to have friends who are like sisters to me. Isn't that simply beautiful?

Ashley Joy: Glad these ideas are something you would want to give your sister. The other option is to buy them their favorite stuff. But every so often a creative personalized gift is unique and wonderful to give and receive. :-)

Ms Chievous: Thanks for the personal request! I enjoyed making this hub. Do email me when your hub is done so I will not miss it for sure. :-) Thanks again.

Tina from Wv on August 05, 2009:

Hooray! Thank You for answering my request it has definitely inspired me for my next hub. You did a really nice job on this one!

Ashley Joy on August 05, 2009:

These are some great gift ideas. It is always hard to find a gift that will be what you want it to be for your sister.

DoodleLyn from Upstate New York, USA on August 05, 2009:

Oh how I wish I had a sister! Alas, I am not blessed with one. But I have many friends, who are like sisters to me. I will definitely use some of these terrific quotes in a book I am making for my best friend! Thank you, Michelle. Your hub really made me aware that even though I have no biological sisters, I am sister to all those in my life.

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 05, 2009:

Advisor: not one but three precious jewels. LOL :-)

Shellemie: It is my utmost pleasure to share these quotes with you. :-) Happy birthday to your friend.

shellemie on August 05, 2009:

These quotes are a treasure. I don't have a sister to call my own but one friend is about to celebrate her birthday and she has been a sister to me. I guess I'd share one of the quotes above and send her a message.

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 04, 2009:

Hi mayhmong! Wow, you all come from a big family, that must be fun with all its chaos and joy. LOL You have foster siblings too? I know you'd come up with a great scrapbook may. You have such nice ideas.

mayhmong from North Carolina on August 04, 2009:

Your scrapbook idea is perfect! I don't let my foster siblings leave empty handed. Its tough seeing them leave. And emohealer, I feel for you too! I have 5 biological sisters and a brother to keep up with!

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 04, 2009:

Hi VioletSun, thank you for sharing yourself. Your mom taught you something truly valuable and it is so true, your family is important. It must have been painful losing your parents and your older brother and nephew. And what a blessing through it all, you and your sister have each other.

I appreciate the encouraging words. When I am not at my best, they uplift me too and make me see the beauty of myself and the things I do. Thank you very much.

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 04, 2009:

Hi dohn, you are lucky to have sisters. :-) I was smiling as you shared about the different smells. I wonder what my room smells like. Tee hee Yes isn't it good to know that somewhere in this big wide world, you have a family to call your own.

VioletSun from Oregon/ Name: Marie on August 04, 2009:

Michelle: I love the idea of designing and making up an inspirational book, its a great gift for anyone we care about, thanks for this idea! I love my older and only sister; we both have become even closer as our parents died, our older brother and her younger son. Don't want to sound sad, but the fact is we only have each other, and we agreed we are blessed mom raised us to look out for each other and to not be envious. I enjoy her successes as she enjoys mine.

I want you to know that I love to read your hubs- especially when I am not feeling at my best, there is something about the energy of your words that always have a depth even that reaches out and touches the heart.

dohn121 from Hudson Valley, New York on August 04, 2009:

This was a great inspirational hub, Michelle. Right now, I feel like I'm in my sisters' old bedroom in my family's house: Everything is soft and pastel with a faint smell of baby powder! I gets it beats being in my brothers' room that smelt like gym shorts and a mix of Brut and Old Spice or something like it! I have two older sisters who are very close to me. Reading this reminded me that they aren't far away. Thank you for that, Michelle.

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 04, 2009:

Hi Beth, that is so true. I remember one time when my best friend gave me an inspirational book with personal messages on it, I was crying the whole time. I felt so appreciated and loved. :-) Thanks for being here.

Beth100 from Canada on August 04, 2009:

Michelle, These are fantastic ideas. Giving from the heart is the best gift one can share with a loved one.

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 04, 2009:

Hi Soumyasrajan! That is so wonderful to hear - festival of rakhi. This is a blessing indeed. Thank you for telling me. May we continue to share the gift of love to our sisters and brothers today and everyday. :)

soumyasrajan from Mumbai India and often in USA on August 04, 2009:

Hi! Ripplemaker

Pleasure to read your hubs. Today is the festival of rakhi in India. Rakhi is a festival of sister's day. On this day sisters tie a thread with love and affection on brother's wrists and brothers give gifts to sisters.

It is a good coincidence that you thought of publishing gifts to sisters on the same day.

Michelle Simtoco (author) from Cebu, Philippines on August 04, 2009:

Hi Emohealer! 7 younger sisters??? Woh! You must be the eldest in the family like me. LOL But I have 3 younger brothers and wished I had a sister in the family. But God has blessed me with truly good friends who are like sisters to me. I know you will be able to express your love to your sisters in a beautiful way Susan. Thank you for your presence. It is a joy to hear from you as always. :)

Sioux Ramos from South Carolina on August 04, 2009:
