Freedom: You Have It or You Don't; You Either Cherish and Protect It, Work to Lose It or Spend a Lifetime Seeking It

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

Fired up for Freedom

I am fired up for freedom and I am sick and tired of any and all who seek to rob it from me, from us, from anyone!

Once it is gone, it doesn’t come back and those waiting and wishing for something better to come along, while working toward something worthy of replacing, what we already have here, will be waiting for an eternity.

Take what you have been given, that which has been fought for, when it is as good as it gets and work to preserve it, learn to understand it, in order to begin to cherish it.

What we have here is being targeted from all directions, it doesn’t help when there is assistance from within.

Whether in the name of fairness, safety, doing what is supposedly in our best interest, it is freedom-robbing.

Whatever clever little box or fancy little package it is placed in, no matter the various forms of guilt utilized, it is freedom-robbing.

It is assisting in our eventual demise.

Over the past couple of years, I have been boycotting football, it has been too woke for my blood, but with this being the 20th Anniversary of the attack on our homeland and with the recurring theme of all those momentous things, including sports, which brought us together on 9/12, I tuned in.

There was a wonderful tribute to American resolve and a reminder of doing for one another, caring for one another, not tearing each other down, together with tearing this Country down, as some kind of modern day woke arena sport!

A young lady whose Father was taken away from her 20 years ago, as he rushed in, as heroes do, working to undo the damage done by evil, hate-filled, life taking, freedom-robbers, sang the National Anthem and it was a beautiful thing!

My hope, my prayer, is that we go forward with not only our inherent Patriotic spirit intact, but also with the healing spirit which was 9/12, that which helped to heal and sustain us, during a crucial time.

We need both in spades, if we have any hopes of passing something worthy of passing on, to generations to come.

Less tearing down, more buiding up:

The Freedom Song

Freedom's Song

Here is my rendition of a modern day Freedom song

Those that have it, throw it away, while others are dying without it, after craving it all life long

Although not always forsaken, oftentimes just taken for granted

Seeking out utopia, seeking out enchanted

As if heaven is possible here on earth

As if freedom already won, isn't due its worth

People scream out, I am tired of hearing about your rights

Forgetting historic human chains for freedom, forgetting modern day suffering and current plights

We are told by our so-called leaders to forget about freedom, to forget about our rights and just do as they say

While numerous people have been left behind in a hellhole, just trying to survive one more day

Out of sight, out of mind; many have grown tired of the remembrance of a time that is past

Oblivious to learning about history, so it's not repeated, they instead, destroy it, mock it, making sure, the lessons will not last

But, today, here in America, there's talk of shunning those that don't do as Government may dictate

Not considering for a second, Government's job is not to dictate, assisting in corruption's tear down, turning against all who won't participate

How quickly did we go from "sports, heals"

after 9-11, to no, sports, kneels

The clueless following after the ignorant; the deaf being led by the blind

Any thoughts of freedom and Liberty must be expunged from the mind

Never able to state a case, never able to justify

It will go down in altered history as something heroic, when it was just all one big ugly and divisive lie

Yes, let us talk about freedom, the freedom to act as fools

Continuing the lies from the sidelines and taking them into our schools

I'll not be pulled into this deceptive charade

I'll not join in with the going off the cliff sheep brigade

Til my last breath, I will sing of Freedom's song

To my last breath I will know, that I am standing exactly where I belong

Appreciated.

Brenda, I think the days of people making their own choices is a thing of the past, according to the people that we the people have put in power! It's funny, since I was a young teenager, the phrase, "my body, my choice" has been quoted more than scripture! I wonder what the left are going to do about that antiquated quote now!? On the bright side, maybe more babies will now have a chance. Another subject for another day.

A good response to the freedom prompt A.B. I read this yesterday but was unable to comment until someone else did, as it was not on my feed.

Hopefully your work will show up on my feed now.

I believe everyone has a right to make his or her own choices, but Yes!! Freedom is for everyone.

Absolutely.

Thanks for letting me know Yves, I was afraid of that.

When there is no consistency on who has published and with only a very short window in which you can comment, it makes it quite difficult to interact.

Yves on September 13, 2021:

BTW, you do not always come up on my feed, otherwise I would post more. But, I do read the majority of your articles. In fact, I am unable to comment on most people's articles, except for Peggy W's. I have no idea why, but just thought I'd let you know.

Hi Yves, I completely agree, it is sick and it is abusive. I heard recently that a so-called Teacher in Orange County, California, removed the American flag, replaced it with the gay pride flag and suggested the kids pledge it instead.

After spending time telling the kids, to stand or not stand, recite, don't recite makes no difference to her, when the time of day came to Pledge the American flag, {which kids noted was absent from the classroom} although she did her best to guilt them, they chose to stand, but they didn't say the words. This "Teacher" has been removed from the classroom and the investigation is ongoing.

This woman, times how many other so-called Teachers are indoctrinating American children, while failing miserably to teach them the things which matter, the things which truly prepare them? We'd probably feel nauseous if we knew the numbers.

Also, in more freedom-robbing news, I heard a citizen of Australia on a radio program this morning. He spoke of his homeland being locked down and shut off from the rest of the world. He doesn't believe any small businesses will survive, but no worries the Gov will pay them to stay home.

They've given up everything in hopes of staying safe from a virus that is nearly 100% survivable for most. He suggested that it's coming soon to the U.S., no doubt, we are hearing such things already.

The other story that I heard this morning on talk radio was about the Nazarene Fund and how they are just trying to save people {in Afghanistan} but the State Dept. stalls every effort. It's sickening. I'll not get into again right now. You may already be following it.

Wow, just wow, I don't know what else to say.

Hi Brenda, thanks for sticking with it and for searching out my article. However, I am now left wondering how many of my articles aren't being seen?! One of my followers was telling me that she never gets notice when I've published, maybe that's a thing of the past.

Also, I'd like to thank you for your kind words, In one of your comments you say, "What is right for one, might not be right for the other", but I believe freedom is always right, for everyone!

Yves on September 13, 2021:

Isn't it ironic that Black, Brown, White, Asian and Native Americans all fought for our freedom of speech, to include the freedom to disrespect and desecrate our flag, our nation and our values? American hating Americans would not have the freedom to speak badly of their nation if they lived in China, for example. They would be arrested, tortured and executed. Our American soldiers have died for the right of Americans to hate.

I recently heard of an American school teacher who hung Mao's picture in his classroom, along with a BLM flag... and who gives extra credit to students if they will volunteer in Marxists causes. And he laughs about that, thinking himself immensely clever for fooling children.

No matter their American freedoms, these haters should not have the right to corrupt the most vulnerable among us, our beloved children. If an adult chooses to be a stupid person that is their prerogative but, I cannot stand that they have the freedom to take advantage of young minds like any other common predator.

Thank you!

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on September 13, 2021:

Found it Now!! Thank you.

A.B.,

In the beginning of your article you tell us that once freedom is gone it won't come back & you are tired of those who try to rob it from us.

You tell us:

"Take what you have been given, that which has been fought for, when it is as good as it gets and work to preserve it, learn to understand it, in order to begin to cherish it."

You tell us on the 20th Anniversary of 9-11 you tune in to watch sports and you hear a young lady sing our National Anthem.

This is a beautiful tribute since her father was taken away on that tragic day 20 years ago.

He was one of the heros who reached out to help others escape the evil done on that day.

You hope Americans keep both their patriotic spirit & the healing spirit of 9-12 which helped us to sustain and heal after that awful day.

You hope this spirit is passed down through the generations.

Your song, "Freedom's Song" reminds us that others want to have freedom but are dying without it.

Yet we often take for granted the value of our freedoms which was fought so hard for to attain.

Then you hear others say to forget about our Bill of Rights & all those past modern day plights and follow whatever the government dictates for us to do.

With talk of shunning those who don't follow this lead you wonder what happened to the healing compassion after 9-11.

When others want you to forget your freedom and simply follow along when they can't justify their reasons with any legitimate proof.

You tell us you will not follow this charade of deception.

You will stand strong behind your beliefs singing your Freedom Song until you take your last breath.

This is a well thought out article & song which points out the tragedy of that fateful day & the lessons we learned.

We did bond together as one unite back then, and I wish our spirits would do that all the time.

Working together for solutions is the best way. Not dictatoship mannerisms that seem to be tearing the American people apart with this recent pandemic.

We must not forget the freedoms we have been given, but we must also think about humanity as a whole looking at it from every angle.

What is right for one, may not be right for another.

Great writing. I posted the link in the word prompt article.
