Finding A Friend

Shauna began writing poetry in 1975 as an emotional release. She has since been published in various compilations and has expanded genres.

My son's pastor is his friend and mine.

My son's pastor is his friend and mine.

My sister when she was 6 and our Great Dane, Zorba. Best friends!

My sister when she was 6 and our Great Dane, Zorba. Best friends!

Axel and Shiloh, two of my three. They were friends this day!

Axel and Shiloh, two of my three. They were friends this day!

My son and niece. Cousins and the best of friends!

My son and niece. Cousins and the best of friends!

I wrote this poem in 1985. Today, it has more meaning for me than when it was first penned.

Finding

A Friend

In Someone

Who has found

A Friend

In You…

Seals

The Bond

With the Kiss

Of Truth.

The reciprocal

Friendship

Recognizes

That something

Special

That

Is

Realized

Only too seldom.

Finding

A Friend

In Someone

Who has found

A Friend

In You

Caresses My Heart

And Soothes

My

Soul.

Epi, Maria and Angelia forwarded your FB post about your site, so I signed up. Angelia is going to help me also. I have some photos I need to take and work on my layout before I begin. Email me with status of the appraisal, etc.

epigramman on August 16, 2013:

I am glad you found my new website Shauna before I was about to alert you - I've been terribly distracted this past week with having the appraisal lady coming by to look at my cottage in order to get a loan for another car - I have missed two weeks of work because of this

Heaven, it's so great to see you! How are you? Have you been recording or writing or both? I've been thinking about you....

Heaven L Burkes from The Invincible Heart of Neverland on August 16, 2013:

So HAPPY to have found a friend in you here, dear Shauna. Now we "Linked In" too and I appreciate being able to endorse each other there. :) Endorsing & commenting here = Cyber hugs, I think. :) Have a lovely day and a great weekend!

Shauna L Bowling (author) from Central Florida on August 16, 2013:

Epi, many of my true friends are also online and I met them all here at HP. For that reason alone, I don't think I'll ever leave. Although, I do communicate via email with many of the friends I've met here. They are my true friends - and you're one of them. I was wondering if we are FB friends. I guess we are. Good for us!

Enjoy your day. Love, me.

epigramman on August 16, 2013:

Good morning dear Shauna and I sincerely hope this comment finds you well.

Yes we find friendship in many different and unlikely places don't we?

Many of my true friends are online now - people whom I never met face to face but are some of the nicest people and best friends that I would ever want to meet in any lifetime.

Once again your hearfelt words are the central lifeforce and attraction of your poetic writing here.

I will see you on FB with a post and a link and sending you warm wishes from Colin and Little Miss Tiffy and Mister Gabriel at lake erie time canada 9:55am

Heaven Leigh, Shiloh (the one with the brown face) is actually a Himilayan mix, Axel (next to her) is a CFA registered Flame Point Himilayan. Missing from the picture is Sheba, Shiloh's sister. Except for her blue eyes, she looks more like a tabby, although they have the same mother (Seal Point Himilayan). I adopted the sisters from a woman who rescues animals.

I'll bet your Ragdolls are gorgeous!

Heaven L Burkes from The Invincible Heart of Neverland on July 04, 2012:

Very nice! Thank you for a wonderful poem about friendship. Your kitty looks like mine. I have 2 Ragdolls. 1 has the dark face like one in your pic. :) Happy 4th to you too!
