disappointment

lies half hidden,

a ball

wrapped in on itself.

it leaks out

of half smiles sometimes,

as i catch myself worrying once again

about

cracks in the plaster of my life,

fissures revealing

the darkness underneath.

Disappointment can really be hard to hide sometimes, your image selection really does reflect your poetry very well, and helps me think about how much we eventually fail at keeping up the illusion that all is perfectly beautiful and bright in our lives; a very thought provoking poem.

There is so much that can leak out in facial expressions ... they call them "tells" or "microexpressions" and it's fascinating to see what people don't intend to show you. I liked this.
