Celebrating Ten Years on HubPages with Poetry. To ALL my Friends

Author:

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Wisdom from the Master

"Victory means temporary peace,

But Peace is eternity's victory." - Sri Chinmoy

Manatita on the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run - Southern Hemisphere, in Bujumbura, Burundi

Manatita on the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run - Southern Hemisphere, in Bujumbura, Burundi

Today, in view of the above celebratory tone, it is only fitting that I include what Eluid Kipchoge has done for himself, for Kenya ... for mankind. It is all God's Grace. Sri Chinmoy teaches that the Absolute either sanctions, approves or tolerates. Nothing happens without the will of the inner Pilot.

The second poem is also chosen to celebrate Light: Kipchoge's Light, the awakening, ever-illumining Light, Mother nature's Light in myriad forms. The final poem utilises the senses to reflect the deeper everyday reflections of man, things and nature that we normally take for granted. Enjoy!

Wisdom from the Master

"God has infinite children,

But the name of His fondest child is Peace." - Sri Chinmoy

Eluid Kipchoge and Aklilu at the Hilton, Ethiopia

Eluid Kipchoge: A Man Sent By God.

Father Sun, Brother Moon and Sister Star,

Blazed an invisible trail of glory across the sky.

Mother Earth danced, Her pride and lustre,

Stirring the urge of each human heart to greatness.

Daddy Heaven rejoiced, in the core of His Kenyan children.

Kipchoge’s piercing will, paved a pioneering path

To the Spirit of man, making the impossible possible.

His slogan, “Each human has no limits”, reverberating

In the energy of life itself.

I watched him run, as elegant and poised as a phoenix, soaring

Towards infinity. Steps graceful; courage indomitable, he moved

Like a majestic lion, within a cohort of loyal and unwavering courtiers,

Knowing they were about to kiss, the unknowable heights of victory.

With a warrior’s strength; fists punching towards heaven,

Kipchoge touched the burning flames,

Of the self-transcending potential of the soul.

The 2-hr Marathon magic barrier looked defeated,

Unfurling its petals, like a rose, inviting Eluid to breast the tape

Of the unconquerable, as history was made.

The digital clock showed 1:59, 40.25 seconds, but the Divine Empress

Smiled from the Beyond, exalting the glory of God, In the Heart of man.

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 13th October, 2019.

Heaven and earth

Heaven and earth

"Light, my Light,

"My sweet Light ... my illumining Light,

The Light dances, transforms ...

Dawn has arrived!

Lo! my darkness receded." -Manatita

My Light; My Fire; My Sweet Fire; My Light. A Free-style Sonnet

She rises, like the dawn … graceful, majestic, sacred … healing.

A tapestry of colours … a pure white flame, she hugs my Heart,

With a translucent lustre, smouldering my garbage of imperfections.

Casting Her spells across the ocean, She shimmers on the horizon,

Her incandescent rays of the sun, hugging Her hot body,

As She kisses the crest of crimson tides.

Sometimes, She’s like a volcano … a wild, raging spew,

Smouldering a pinnacle of scorching heat, like Grenfell Tower,

Burning a trail of death and destruction.

O Light, my illumining Light, the moon is thine Heart, as

Fire Thy inferno, consuming my shadows, only to send a Divine

Architect, to build a new Jerusalem, in the profundity of my soul.

My Light; my Fire; my sweet Fire, my Light, burn my house down!

Dowse me in the carousel of Love’s intimate candles, and take me Home.

- Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 25th October 2019.

Reflections From a Kenyan Bedroom

Silence whistles, like a continuous drone,

Soft, melodious … healing. One wouldn’t necessarily

Know it’s there, unless attentive, reflective … listening.

The night’s traffic splashes like the Iguassu falls.

Amidst all this, stillness whispers sweet melodies in my Heart.

It is 10:00 P.M, October 7th in Nairobi,

And I am sitting on my bed next to the window.

I stare at the translucent Light, peeping through

The white archaic mosquito net, with coral trimmings.

The rain beating vibrantly against the wind and foliage,

Touches my soul. The ambience is peaceful, soothing … serene.

The call to the synagogue of the Heart, draws me inwards,

As I turn the Lights off and close my eyes peacefully.

I drift effortlessly, into another virgin dawn.

Ha ha.

I call the Kenyan one 'Observational.' Because I look at things and use my senses to write the poem. Many of my poems are purely meta-physical.

Great to see you Miz and thank you for your continued support.

manatita44 (author) from london on October 27, 2019:

Altitude is one major factor.

God has also given them speed to cope with the poverty of having to run to school from childhood.

Hovever, Paula Radcliffe held the female marathon record until recently. So there is no hard and fast rule.

Evolution repeats itself a lot and God constantly changes the game. Each soul has the same potential, but the Divine sometimes compensates.

Thanks a lot Bro.

John Hansen from Queensland Australia on October 27, 2019:

It is good to have yo back writing at HP; Manatita. good work in Kenya and thanks for sharing these poems. Why are the Kenyans and Ethiopians so superior at long distance running?
