Are you or any of your friends and family single? Looking for love? Have a pet that you hope a potential mate will like?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then take a trip to Wagtail, Virginia for the first annual Animal Attraction love match.
Okay, so there really isn’t such a place but the idea is kind of cute and figures prominently in this crimozy.
As love comes to Wagtail, so do the hopeless romantics, with the exception of Randall Donovan who pooh pooh’s love and those looking for a mate.
Headed by famous matchmaker Macon Stotts, he sets out to prove that his matchmaking skills are top notch and unbeknownst to her, Holly Miller’s Oma has filled out a questionnaire with the hope of finding her a boyfriend.
Holly and her match don’t get along romantically, but while on a moonlit walk, the two stumble across a body. Unfortunately, it’s not the first body that she’ll come across during the matchmaking event.
Because she and her friend, Zelda play a prank on Zelda’s ex-husband Hank, the two became suspects in his murder. A murder that is quite grisly in the world of crimozies.
Holly also has to deal with two overbearing mothers who are sneaking around town spying on their daughters and hoping that her ex-boyfriend Ben finds a new love interest.
As usual, I like the characters and storyline that Davis has created, but a vast majority does drag on. Again I think it’s because of the amount of characters and the number of pets with human names. It can be a little overwhelming.
This installment (so far) is the halfway point in the series and slowly it’s turning into a favorite of mine, but I still love Davis’ Domestic Diva series.
