Autogenesis

autogenesis

At first Autogenesis, the first perfect mind
Awakening sleepers to the passage of time
Highlands all golden and the smoldering sage
Turn out the sun at the turn of the age
Roaming the forests as gentle as a fawn
Sometimes near, what is sometimes gone
Live like a hunter, like the horde, and the ox
Shine light like fires in the eyes of a fox

To be everything,
And nothing at all
To be here and yet not
To feel the madness,
As it awakens what follows
To live in fear of what must be love

So, like Poseidon, Osiris and Rama
Just as Joshua beheld the rise of the gods
Born to brotherhood in life, and death, and dreams
Each ruling over the times in-between
Just as war, gives rise to technology
Simple as stone, abides the ecology
Delightful the sounds of the beasts, in the trees
To know the starlight and what lies hiding unseen

To be everything,
And nothing at all
To be here and yet not
To feel the madness,
As it awakens what follows
To live in fear of what must be love

Great as the horned one that came from the cave
Offering freedom, only to become enslaved
So, like the jackals, that howl with the wolves
Eyes widen with talons, wise handed and hoofed
Encircling mountains where the serpent eats the vine
To be the nameless and the masters of rhyme
Engaging shadows, all secret and phantom
The Poets of Pan are the splitters of the atom

I am everything and nothing at all
I am here and I am not
To feel the madness, as awakening follows
I live in fear of what I must Love
