Made in China; Hopefully, Not Made to Last

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

It's Not Going to Last

Some may be offended, but offense is in the mind of the beholder, is it not

Most have an abundance of humor and some, between zero and not a heck of a lot

People have died and she's making fun; with jokes about China

Does that sarcasm come from her roots, something from the hills of Carolina

We've always made fun of junk from China...hmm...or was that Japan

Whatever...this junk is deadly... and no normal person is a fan

Instead of selling us trinkets, they've delivered quite a crushing blow

For some it is a death sentence, others are imprisoned, in order to force a slow

While some will get a kick out of this, others will consider, the source

Either people are stuck at home making babies or will soon be filing for divorce

Some give you the evil stink eye, if you dare to shop, without a mask

Then they head out to their cars, windows rolled up tight, while still masked, how do they ever take to the flask

Many are much too comfortable with lock down, while some fight against it with all of their might

Some would be willing to never venture out again, while some will surely die, if they can't soon take flight

Shame on her, she's so insensitive, excuse me while I barricade my door

We must only listen to the experts, we've never seen anything like this before

Only in America

Scroll to Continue

Can Do and Cannot Do

And so, the story goes...on and on, some with a determined can-do spirit and some determined...they cannot

Some fall in line, lose touch, as they become an ill-functioning robot

The rest aren't foolish, they want it handled wisely, but will not hide under the covers

We'd all, strategically, be out and about tomorrow, if some of us had our druthers

Instead we are made to feel small, as the 'experts' determine what's to come

Meantime, Country after Country closed down and may soon come undone

Communist China must be gleeful, in seeing what they currently see

If you're expecting a show of defeatism, you won't see it coming from me

I'll keep the jabs a-coming, especially if I irritate a lib

When have we ever expected, a Communist not to lie or to fib

I am so irritated with them, the media, the left, if I were more of a cusser, I'd cuss

Not making light of what has been done, for it has been done to all of us

So instead I'll choose, to have a little fun with this

Quarantine and craziness had a time, I for one, will certainly not miss

Love me, hate me, ignore me, we are all in this together

But, hopefully preaching to the crowd, when I say, brothers and sisters, we can't be locked down forever

Made in America

Making the Most

Making the most out of a bad situation, doesn't make a bad guy you see

Some would prefer we blame and hate on the President, while overlooking Xi

Yes, that's how screwed up we've become, talk down the President, ignore the big lie

Give the Communist bully a pass and instead...pile some more on the American guy

Support/defend the President's actions; will get you called out as old and close-minded by some loser 'Occupy' dude

When we should be supportive and together...the loony left wishes to make everything a feud

So, back to things made in China, we know they aren't built to last

Nothing China has done or does, should make anyone all aghast

Take some satisfaction in that; venture out, soak up the sun, get some fresh air

No more smug satisfaction for them and just to make it, still no closer to fair

But, an in their face rejection, we buy American from here on out

Who is with me, who has been active, supporting one another, getting out and about

We must support Mom and Pop operations, we must tip as we've never done before

Yes it may take some time, but we will get there, we will even up this score

We've got to get about our business, if opposed, just get out of the way

Looking forward to dominating China...and oh that will glorious day!

P.S. Thanks Eric for taking this in a different health cannot afford for my blood to boil too often!

Have a great day!

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 29, 2020:

Could be Eric, perhaps she could star in her own Reality show - 'Why Do I Keep Buying This Crap'

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on April 28, 2020:

I love that about the hooks. My wife loves to throw things out and clean up. I think she buys half the crap just to throw it out -- a strange addiction?

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 28, 2020:

Yes Eric, it doesn't last long enough to bother to fix. Certainly not enough time to get attached! Careful with those razors! lol

Me and my hubby like to watch fishing shows; when a hook breaks, we say, shouldn't buy those cheapie chinese hooks.… won't catch a fish that way. ;)

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on April 28, 2020:

If I want new stuff all the time I buy China. I can say I have never "fixed" something from China. They are not made that way. Like how the government there treats their people -- disposable. Well my wife bought me some disposable razors (hint hint ;-) I was shaving and thought just how old is this razor? Which brings me to the point of QA (quality assurance in foreign lands) Japan and So. Korea now have it. China refuses to embrace it.

I think this speaks volumes to the notion of socialism. Quality of life is about 5th on the scale. Quality of environment takes a different test all by itself and China is held up by the same who should tear it down environmentally. Case on point is society and the environment -- COVID being a disaster in such.

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 28, 2020:

The people are doing great, just as they've done from the get go. That's not the problem, we have mile after mile of beaches, up and down both coastlines.

It's just another rule "guideline", which has been put in place.

Hopefully, it will change within the next few days, our Governor is a lot like yours, ready to open up!

Shannon Henry from Texas on April 28, 2020:

That doesn't make sense. You can still social distance. If the crowds aren't obeying, why not just lower the limit of people allowed at one time rather than tell people what they can do?

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 28, 2020:

Yes I must seek the beach very soon!

Although, I am hearing through the grapevine, that I can't relax on the beach. Have to be walking or surfing...Alrighty then!!! Deep breaths!

Shannon Henry from Texas on April 28, 2020:

I get that, but you asked if I'd heard about them. That's why I haven't. I stopped paying attention to a lot of "newsy" things shared on social media as well for the same reasons.

Deep breaths...count to ten...meditate at the beach. :)

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 28, 2020:

Just in case, I am soon silenced.

Nice 'knowing' ya'll!

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 28, 2020:

This has nothing to do with watching the news.....

These Doctors have been silenced; they aren't nut job conspiracy theorists, they are Doctors speaking out against what they are seeing and they've been silenced!

It is scary!

No worries...I am taking a lot of deep breaths today!

Shannon Henry from Texas on April 28, 2020:

I can't say that I have. But I also made it a point not to watch the news as often as I used to and mostly try to focus on just the local news when I do, so whatever information I've had lately regarding the virus has been whatever the local stations are reporting. They seem to be more streamlined than the major stations on a national level.

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 28, 2020:

Did you see or hear about these Cali Doctors before they were 'erased'?

Hmmm..."Doctors erased", now that sounds like some news which might come straight out of.....China!!!

We are in some deep doodoo.

Shannon Henry from Texas on April 28, 2020:

LOL.....Everyone gets mad sometimes. I used to hate the thought, mostly of staying mad. I guess I still don't stay mad long when I do get mad, but It doesn't bother me like I used to. Takes more effort to stay mad, though, and raises my blood pressure. Creates a general sense of unease. But, hey girl, get it out of your system! LOL

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 28, 2020:

Shannon, remember our conversation about me not getting angry. I lied!

Let's see how long this one lasts!

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 28, 2020:

OKAY!!!! Just informed the video in which two California Doctors are discussing all that is going on as being more about control than anything else......wouldn't you know it. IT HAS DISAPPEARED!!!

But, no worries continue to get your news from sources that are READILY AVAILABLE, right at your fingertips. Be controlled.

Yes, I am angry!!!

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 28, 2020:

This keeps disappearing but I tracked it down again...funny how you have to go through dozens and dozens of NEGATIVE stories about our Country, our President, hopelessness and despair...before you get to something truly encouraging and informative:

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 27, 2020:

Hi emge, yes they want products made cheaper and as a result, the consumer gets cheaply made products. This has been an issue as long as I can remember. Whether it has been Japan, Taiwan, get what you pay for! It's time to end the practice of outsourcing. Maybe now?

We will see what happens, but we can't remain prisoners to this.

MG Singh emge from Singapore on April 27, 2020:

Nice thoughtful post-yes items made in China are not durable but still, lots of American corporations have outsourced items to be made in China. Whether the lockdown instructions are removed or not the virus is not going to go away and life will never be what it was like earlier. The Chinese scored a few aces thanks to Donald Trump but don't know what will happen in the future.

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 27, 2020:

Seriously Flourish?

You mean when he stopped travel from China and was called xenophobic for it? Or was it when he was called racist for stopping other international travel?

While he was proactive, Pelosi was tweeting 'No Ban' (as in there should not be a travel ban!!!) and telling people to visit this when HE was botching it!?!

If I've missed something, please do share.

My husband and I were actually watching the briefing when UV light and disinfectant was being discussed as very effective against this virus. He was speculating if something as effective, could be used in the body. We understood what he was saying...maybe not so perfectly or eloquently, but he never said to inject bleach.

FlourishAnyway from USA on April 27, 2020:

Trump really botched the whole pandemic response from ignoring the warnings of the virus’ impending impact to his suggestions regarding injecting bleach. He’s a pathetic leader. Sorry. However, I do agree we’ve let too much of our key industries go overseas to our nation’s peril. Now we are faced with the task of correcting this grave error in strategic judgment.

Angie B Williams (author) from Central Florida, USA on April 27, 2020:

Hi Shannon, thanks for sharing your take on all of this. Florida is like most States, some are anxious to get going again, some are reluctant. Some Democratic Mayors, Orlando’s for example, are dragging their feet on opening up. Disney is discussing not opening until 2021.Schools aren’t reopening....My granddaughter’s ballet and tap recitals which were scheduled for May, have been canceled and that makes me so sad for her.

As far as blame goes, China hid this from the world. When they understood what was happening, they closed down travel within their Country...but not internationally. Hmm, that’s curious!

I certainly don’t blame the people of China, I blame their Communist leaders and I lay some of the blame on the World Health Organization, for their failure to sound the alarm earlier.

For the Dems, the media, leftists...those who were all calling President Trump xenophobic and racist for shutting down travel so quickly, to now be singing a different tune, as if it was the other way around, is so infuriating. So they get a share of the blame for being their usual useless, deceiving selves.

Shannon Henry from Texas on April 27, 2020:

How are things going in FL? TX is about to reopen. The stay at home order expires on Thursday and things will start to reopen in phases on May 1st.

You know, I was rather nervous when this all started and then my concern shifted to others I know in hot zones and/or at-risk categories. Now, we are finding that it probably isn't as deadly as we thought it was going to be and that in the majority of the country, the hospital systems aren't going to be overwhelmed. So maybe if it's done right and with safety in mind, this could be a good thing. Especially since they are also saying this may be another seasonal virus to avoid.

Maybe China shouldn't have shut that doctor up to begin with and started on a vaccination immediately instead. But even with a chuckle for the joke about things made in China, I don't think we can definitively blame any one person or country. Seems like a series of factors and a bad chain of events. We've all been warned about something like this happening for years in advance and our country could have done more. Other countries could have done more. The hospital systems could have been more prepared.

I'd like to be more optimistic that we'll do better the next time around, but I'm also pessimistic that we all tend to forget. So.....I guess you could say my glass is half full and half empty. LOL
