Follow up Letter

Pitch thy behaviour low; thy projects high;

So shall thou humble and magnanimous be.

Sink not in spirit; who aimeth at the sky,

Shoots higher much than he means a tree.

A grain of glorie mixt with humblenesse

Cures both a fever and lethargicnesse.

Dear Esteemed Judges of the Writing Contest. I refer to my Open Letter of the 5th instant.

I can hear you whisper under that o'h so clean breath. What the F*##K! Who is this bloke? This incorrigible stranger imposing his views on our learned minds. Don’t you hate it when you get a reminder letter only days from receiving a utilities bill?

Moreover he then bothers us further. Did he not read the rules which states quite explicitly that no correspondence will be entered into?

Just when you thought you had read everything this turns up on your desk. Another Follow up Letter. A Reminder Letter. A 'Call it what you will 'Letter. You see:

"In the beginning, sometimes I left messages in the street..." But now I have this forum. See Gotcha!

"Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show." I have never begun a HUB with more misgivings. Until now you see:

"Once upon a time, some time ago, a rather stubborn and determined middle-aged man decided to record for posterity, exactly as it happened, word by word..."

I little bird told me you were left so breathless based on my first letter that you could not wait to put me up there. In florescent lights. 28 hours a day. Eight days a week. You are still so stunned that you are left non-plused as to what accolade you could bestow upon me. Don't feel guilty;I understand. I know ones lives are busy, you are so time poor. Such I thought I would writing a follow up letter to express my inner most thoughts on this so, so important an issue.

Consider the sweat blood and tears I put into this; Without so much as a Cliche.

I hear that you have many such letters delivered daily to your desk. all of course of considerable quality content. You have so far been unable to put me on a pedestal; On the winning Dias as it were. Well now is your chance! Hop to it!

Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to also make history. I have of course the constant requirement to remind myself to not hide under a Bush; Not to become a wallflower; Incapable of confident expression of my talent.

Heaven forbid. Though I could be judged as someone so narcissistic; That I do not see above my own narrow horizon. Be that as it may.

"It is a strange thing to finally live out, moment by moment, the realization of a lifelong dream- to compare what is happening on the instant to how you repeatedly imagined it would be."

Seems like only yesterday that I read my first influential pieces of writing. But alas it is more that forty years have passed by since that first time and unfortunately it has left me in its wake. But as has been said many a time before.

"Justice?—you get justice in the next world, in this world you have the law."

Okay enough said I prefer to keep my posting brief and to the point. No waffle here, no waste of words, no empty rhetoric, no long parsimonious sermons. Just the truth my friends!

But can you handle the truth?

Fear not. Are there any questions?

Well you are certainly no wall flower, neither are you HINDING under a bushel. Definition (Bushel loosely, a large quantity or number.) A large quantity of what one may ask.

And this may just be disqualified for using 'here' instead of 'hear' in your second paragraph.

You are just going to have to try that little bit harder my friend... :-)
