"A Snake Is A Snake, Is A Snake"

"A Snake Is A Snake, Is A Snake"

I was once told a joke about a snake that was found in the snow, he was freezing from the cold, a young man found him and was afraid to pick him up because he was a snake. The snake started begging the young man to help him get warm because he was so cold. The snake told the young man that he could put him under his his shirt next to his body, so he could get warm; the young man told him no, because he was a snake, that bite people. well the snake begged and pleaded and promised not to bite him if he helped him. So, against the young mans better judgement, he picked up the snake that was almost frozen, rubbed him and put him under his shirt to keep warm. The snake enjoyed the warmth of the young man body, the snake got so warm and comfortable, that he remembered that he was a snake and bit the young man. The young man scolded the snake so badly for biting him and the snake replied, I'm sorry I couldn't help myself, but you knew I was a snake. My point here is, there are some low down dirty people out there; that will promise you so much but what it boils down to is, that they have the character traits of a snake, that will bite you with words and actions and in a second.

Sometimes, we entertain people that we know are bad for us, and we allow them to get close to us and they spew their venous poison into our lives, because of our stupidity. Some people act like snakes because they like to bite people where it hurts, causing pain and hardships to people that they suppose to care about. Vipers are messy people that slither into our lives and make it a living hell and nightmare by lying, cheating, gossiping and aspiring to commit atrocious acts against us. People with snake character traits are people, that doesn't seem to have a heart and aren't happy unless they're keeping someone else miserable by wrecking havoc in their lives. These people are always slithering into situations where they don't belong making the situations worse. I hate messy and disruptive people, and if you're like me, you try to stay clear of these people and keep them at arms length. People that have snake mentalities cannot, and must not to be trusted at any cost because you will regret it later. All we have to remember is a snake is a snake, so don't charm or entertain them. Be honest with your self, would you trust a rattler or cobra in your life and trust that they want bite you, no you wouldn't and the same thing applies to people of the same mentality. These are people we shouldn't have around us, or in our lives because they are very dangerous. You will know these people, because most times they slither into your life, out of no where and start making certain demands on you, they might consider themselves your best friend, or a lover, or even a relative; you will know them because of their viper mentality.. If you allow yourself to be around a snake long enough, soon or later, you will be bitten, when you least expect it, they strike out at you.

I suggest you always be aware of it's tendencies to inflict pain and cause undo problems with you or your loved ones. These vipers are women as well as men. if you're a godly person, this will help you immensely, that is, if you pray without ceasing on the matter. By praying you can always get rid of your nemesis, even an unwanted snake. Make sure you ask God for the discernment of evil spirits, so you can spot them when you see them, so you can weed them out of your lives. Be very cautious, prayerful and aware of these adders walking on two feet, because they can be a detriment to you and your family. The best thing to do when you realize you have been entertaining theses vipers, is to charm them and release them from your lives. You tell them that you have their number and you don't play that kind of games that they play, and you would appreciate it if they will find someone else to spew their poison at, because you're not interested. By doing this, they'll know you mean it, and slither on to their next victim. Do you remember the serpent and Eve in the garden of Eden: Genesis 3 - 7: Now the serpent was more subtle, subtle means not easily detected, not obvious, skillful, or ingenious. These are character traits of snakes.

Genesis chapter 3 - 1 : Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made, and he said unto the women, yea hath God said, he shall not eat of every tree of the garden.

Genesis chapter 3 - 2: And the women said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the fruit trees of the garden.

Genesis chapter 3 -3 : But of the fruit the tree which is in the midst of the garden, but the fruit, God hath said, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Genesis chapter 3 - 4 : And the serpent said unto the women, ye shall not surely die.

Genesis chapter 3 -5 : For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof , then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be a God, knowing good and evil.

I used the serpent and Eve from the book of Eden to make a point. This example of how we can be used by people with the viper character traits, and if the serpent in the garden of Eden wished harm for Eve, what do you think the snakes, vipers and adders wish for you and I, today. These vipers are people that are very skillful and ingenious people; that will spew venimous poison, and cause detriment in our lives. They are snakes, if they bite you with vicious words and actions, when you aren't looking, because they are a snake, and a snake, is a snake.

You are right. People like this seem to exist with the desire to destroy the joy of others. Many of the proverbs warn against associating with such people.

Benny Faye Ashton Douglass (author) from Gold Canyon, Arizona on March 06, 2010:

Thank you Gigi2, it seems our kids and others that don't want to listen to the warning has to be sometimes bitten by the snake before they'll listen, and that's unfortunate for them, But what can we do. I appreciate you, your comment and feedback.Godspeed. creativeone59

Gigi2 from UK on March 06, 2010:

How well said creativeone. So hard to help the young people see the truth of this. As a mum I have often seen the snakes my kids have met, it's difficult pointing them out without seeming too harsh, but it's worth it. Fab hub. You're a gem.

Especially low down people would promise anything and pretend to be sweet. I can write a book of it. Thank you for a great hub. That was a fine example.

This is one of those all time great proverbs. Our children could learn so much if we return to sharing these stories - that make us all think.

Thanks so much!
