A Poem: The Lazy Day

Demas is of the opinion that a good sense of humor, mixed with an open cheerfulness, is enough to make an introvert into an extrovert.

It is human nature to feel lazy, but....

There is an optimum day to pick ripe cherries. Pray it doesn't happen on one of those lazy days.

There is an optimum day to pick ripe cherries. Pray it doesn't happen on one of those lazy days.

The morning is the key..

Before you even get out of bed,

the dice are cast.

Aside from tasks we are compelled to do,

we drift into a lazy day quit willingly.

Procrastinators are experts at doing so effortlessly.

When we have truly mastered a lazy day,

we do not even feel like chewing food.

much less cooking the food we would have to chew.

The very thought of having a lazy day,

is almost too much work to contemplate.

Given a sunny day, and a blanket

spread where it is not too hot and not too cool,

a lazy day is for watching the clouds drift by,

imagining the shapes they are making,

and then retiring inside,

for a well-earned nap.
