A Poem: Ode to Breakfast

Demas is of the opinion that a good sense of humor, mixed with an open cheerfulness, is enough to make an introvert into an extrovert.

Planning ahead for breakfasts...

Summer peaches (450 in that pile) are  welcome ingredients in a winter breakfast.

Shoveling wet, heavy snow, is a calorie burner for sure.

Getting the "get up and go" start to the day...

Just ponder shoveling that snow on an empty stomach;

while bundling up to stay warm with no "fire in the furnace".

It doesn't have to be snow you will contend with.

Every day has tasks better handled after a good breakfast.

Each morning, men shave and women brush

for proper attention to their outward appearance.

Breakfast doesn't show on the outside, unless you are sloppy.

It "shows up" big on the inside after a full night of sleep.

It sets the body's metabolism for the rest of the day.

The "no breakfast crowd" tries running on an empty tank.

About 10:00 A.M., that bunch has to grab a morning coffee to function.

Those who paid attention to the inside as well as the outside,

sail on through their mornings, wasting no time thinking about lunch.

Admittedly, there are good breakfasts, and less-good breakfasts.

The Big Breakfast is for farmers and snow shovelers.

For someone who will sit much of their day,

the Light Breakfast will suffice, while keeping in mind Benjamin Franklin's

admonitiojn that "Overeating dulls the mind."

If it is too much to put together a Good Breakfast,

the morning mind needs one more than ever.
