A Poem For "Grandma"

This poem is dedicated to one of the most courageous women I know! I am proud to say that my grandmother is a cancer survivor and will continue to be the matriarch of the family for many years to come!

She also happens to be one of the most coolest women I've ever known!

Love You "Grandma!"

Is for the goodness that comes from your heart, all the love and affection you've gave from the start

Is for the respect I shall always give, I will honor and cherish you for as long as I live

Is for advice that you gave through the years, to stand up to my peers and overcome my fears

Is for nobility that you truly obtain, how much you mean to me is never hard to explain

Is for devotion that I'll have forever, there's a bond that we shared which could never be severed

Scroll to Continue

Is for motivation you've bestowed throughout, kept me moving forward to a virtuous route

Is for appreciation I will always show, for a very special lady who has helped me grow

The name "Grandma" brings three simple words to mind, those words are I LOVE YOU cause you're one of a kind

Aright Sam209, I'm happy for your gracious grandma. To overcome something like that is bigger than huge and the way you put honoring her together in an illustrating poem was over the chart. Thanks for that. Vote's up!

I really do adore my grandparents! When I was a teenager, they would ask me to perform songs I'd wrote at every family cookout, which was really awesome! This particular poem was written for my Grandmother when I was around 20 years old. I couldn't remember all the words, but I'm glad I was able to remember enough to submit this dedication!

Thank you for your comment!

Audrey Howitt from California on April 05, 2012:

@ Jirel

I tell you Christina! I pray to God for her good health as well!

My b-day is coming up this month, so as I do every year; I will be visiting my grandparents and celebrating another year of life with them! Obviously these years are more precious to me as my grandparents continue to get older.

With each visit I learn a little bit more about my family history, which is always considered by me to be priceless information!

At first I really wasn't sure about using this poem as a hub, but with each comment I feel glad that I did!

As always, thanks for your comments Christina!
