Have you ever wondered why only one sock goes missing, or what happened to something that was in your refrigerator one day, but is gone the next? What causes your child to sneak into your bedroom in the middle of the night? What ever happened to your favorite underpants? Why you keep losing your keys or sunglasses? You can't blame yourself or the kids, that's just nuts! The answers to all these questions can be found here. These five creatures are the culprits behind many unexplainable household conundrums.
The One-Footed Sock Monster
The One-Footed Sock Monster is an invisible creature that lurks behind your washer or drier. He loves fresh, warm, straight-from-the-drier socks. Since he has only one foot, of course he only needs one! So if you have ever wondered why just one of your socks goes missing, blame the One-Footed Sock Monster! I think I have two or three of them!
Gremlins are sneaky little buggers! They lurk all over your home and wreak havoc in any way they can. They are most known for hiding small objects such as keys and sunglasses. If you've ever searched for something, only to find it in a strange place, such as the freezer, or dishwasher, the gremlins are to blame!
The Boogie Man
The Boogie Man is an extremely talented shape-shifting creature that preys upon children. This guy can manifest himself in the form of monsters, shadows, insects, and can even enter your child's dreams. He will do anything he can to keep your child from going to bed and staying there! He is particularly fond of hiding under beds and in closets.
The Refrigerator Man
The Refrigerator Man is an invisible creature that lives inside your fridge. He very courteously will turn on the light when you open the refrigerator door, but the man's got to eat and entertain himself somehow! The Refrigerator Man is known for eating all the good food, changing the colors, consistencies, and odors of objects in your fridge, as well as drinking all but those last few sips of milk or orange juice.
The Underpants Gnomes are tiny creatures with pointed hats that sneak around at night stealing underpants in any way they can. What they do with the stolen items is unknown, but somehow they make a profit from your abducted undergarments.

Awesome :) Love the hub. I've always known these creatures existed and it's good to know why they wreak havoc on my house! Thanks for the info! Voted up and Shared :)

I think I've got a car gremlin. It stole my earmufs. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

Funny hub! I've been haunted by the one footed sock monster my whole life and it kills me to toss socks away, because I know he'll decide he won't need it anymore!

You forgot Mr. Nobody. He's the one who does all the things no one else will take credit for doing, like eating all the cookies:)

This is great! I think we can all relate, I know I can to each and every single one. Thanks for the introduction as I wasn't aware these mysterious creature occurrences were to blame. I'll keep a sharp eye out for them now!

Very imaginative and entertaining. Everyone has come across at least one of your mythical creatures at least one time. Funny hub, voted up.

I have trouble with Imps. They hide things from me until I call Mom to come over and help me look for them and then they reappear in a perfectly logical place.

Haha, I think I have a "Refrigerator Man". I usually say "Someone must have broken in and took it and left everything else, right?"
Cindy A Johnson from Sevierville, TN on August 08, 2011:
Very funny. I have discovered that one of our "gremlins," is our cat, Aubie. He had a stash of towels, socks, underwear, pens and peaches under the couch.

Woops! LOL! I don't see a way to "edit" my comment, but that should have said "good" belly laugh! Hahahaha!

OMG!!!!! LMAO!!!!! I SOOOOOOOOO can relate to these little critters! :O) In fact, I have always said it's the "Little Blue Men" who stop time, come into "our" reality, take stuff, like a pen or hair brush that you JUST HAD in your hand, and then they go back through the "veil" into their reality and start time again, and then they sit back and laugh their asses off watching us searching everywhere, and then thinking maybe it's "us" that's going crazy! THEN, they stop time again just a bit later, put our stuff back RIGHT IN FRONT OF US, and then go back and start up time and laugh even HARDER when we find it and wonder if we truly have lost our minds!
Ya gotta LOVE "all" of these little creatures, because they DO make us stop and THINK, EH????? LOLOLOLOL!
Thanks, TMApsey!!!! You started my day out with a goo belly laugh! :O)
