We all need a dose of inspiration in our lives now and then. Our life is our greatest teacher and it teaches us so many lessons each day. However, there are also times when we need a big kick of positivity and inspiration. What better friend could we have than a book? Books are our best friends because they tell us what we need to know in the moment.
I have provided a list of my 5 favorite inspirational books below. These books are my saviors during my most difficult times. Please share your own favorite books in the comment section. It would be great to compare notes!
The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz
“The mind is what the mind is fed.”
Dr. Schwartz has designed a program for how can we get the most from our work, personal life, and also our social community. He proves that you don't need to be an intellectual or have innate talent to attain success and satisfaction. What you do need is to learn and understand the habit of thinking and behaving in ways that will get you there.
I believe that this book has the power to convince readers that a way of thinking can change your life. If you think you can or you think you can't, you're right! This book is one of my favourites because the whole lesson and concept of the book is about examining how we think, what we think, and how this thinking shapes our future successes and failures.
See You At The Top by Zig Ziglar
"If you can dream it, then you can achieve it.You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want".
Zig Ziglar is one of the greatest inspirational authors. He is a motivator who has traveled the world. His books are encouraging and inspiring to readers, and See You At The Top is his bestseller.
This book emphasizes the way empathy can help you get what you want in life. If we help others succeed, we are helping ourselves too. See You at the Top emphasizes the value of a healthy self-image and demonstrates how to build it. Setting personal goals is an essential part of any program for success. This important book tells you how to set and achieve those goals and provides step-by-step instructions on how to change the way you think about yourself and your surroundings.
The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
"Decide what you want to be, do, and have, think the thoughts of it, emit the frequency, and your vision will become your life".
This book is a life changer! You may have read mixed things about this book, but it has certainly changed lives of many people, including me. It is also all about changing the way you think.
This book is about thinking in purely and exclusively positive terms. The Secret teaches us that whatever we desire and work hard enough for, the universe has the power (and the will) to give to us. We only need to keep thinking about what we want in life. Read it and share your views about this book in the comments.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
The Alchemist follows the journey of an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago. Believing a recurring dream to be prophetic, he decides to travel to see a Romani fortune teller in a nearby town to discover its meaning. The woman interprets the dream as a prophecy, telling the boy that there is a treasure in the pyramids in Egypt.
This book is about never loosing hope. We are all born to accomplish something. We must strive to achieve it and never loose hope. You won't put down this book until you finish it! Worth Reading.
Chicken Soup for the Unsinkable Soul by Heather McNamara, Jack Canfield, and Mark Victor Hansen
“Don't worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try.”
Chicken Soup for the Unsinkable Soul tells stories about people who have persevered despite being faced with the toughest obstacles, including a man who conquered multiple sclerosis through diet and will, a blind mountain climber whose lack of eyesight couldn't stop him from scaling the highest peaks, and a single mother who refused to let the amputation of all four limbs stand in the way of being both a loving mother and a successful career woman. Chicken Soup for the Unsinkable Soul will show even those of us who carry the heaviest burdens that no matter what obstacles lay before us, determination and perseverance can guide us toward a happy and fulfilling life.
This book contains short stories that will make you smile and cry. This one is my personal all-time favorite.
