So much has been said and written about this distinguished person of India. I may not be saying something new, but all the same, I wanted to write a tribute to this great son of India on his birth anniversary.

  • Abdul Kalam was the former President of India, to be precise the 11th President.
  • Before becoming a politician, he was an Indian aerospace scientist, and his contributions in the field of science are exemplary.
  • He worked as a scientist, as a science administrator, and was involved in Various Indian Space Programmes and their development.
  • He worked for four decades in the service of the nation, as a scientist, at the DRDO, that is Defence Research and Development Organisation, and ISRO, that is Indian Space Research Organisation.
  • He was called, The Missile Man of India, because of his contributions involved in Civilian space programs and military missile development efforts.
  • He enjoyed teaching his students, and was a teacher by heart, which he continued throughout his life.
