Reading fiction will let you escape the real world

— AZKHA Official

Writing is not just about a hobby, it can be bread and butter. And it's more rewarding when you touch the readers' heart and at the same time, you are earning money from it. However, it's not easy. The traditional way of becoming a published author is very hard. And most of the time you'll get so many rejections from the publishing houses. Thankfully, web novel was discovered and a lot of people are into it because it's very handy. You can read many books and series on your mobile phone. It's like your carrying a library in your pocket. Not just that, it's easy to apply as a signed writer on the net these days and you can earn from it. Many web novel writers earned a crazy amount of money. There's a Filipino author who earned millions of pesos by writing a fiction novel online and she was featured in local TV news last year of September 17, 2019.

Here are my top mobile applications that you can monetize your novels.

1. Dreame

A Singapore-based company offering equal opportunities both amateur and veteran writers. Because everyone can apply for a contract even Non-English books. Majority of my signed books are in Tagalog. I only have 3 English that are signed at the moment. They're now operating in 9 languages including English, Bahasa Indonesia, Filipino, Deutsch, Français, Español, Hrvatski, ру́сский, Magyar. They're so generous in rewards like signing bonuses, monthly update bonuses depending on the word counts, completion bonuses, contests prizes and pay-to-read program. What I love about them is that they have a full-time writer position. Yes. If you want to work at home and you think you can reach the 60k words monthly then it's appropriate for you. Well, the basic salary is depending on their offer. If you're a veteran writer or you have many popular books then the offer would be probably high. Aside from basic salary, full-time writers are entitled to receive bonuses too. Monthly update bonuses, pay-to-read program etc.

9. Wattpad

Wattpad is a Canada-based company. The pioneer of web novel platform and they are operating in 56 languages. This is where I started to write and gained readers. I was an avid reader but I decided to write my own book in my own language. It was just for fun and thankfully my fellowmen love it so I continue to write until now. Sadly, I had moved to a different platform since I have a lot of bills to pay and I didn't earn there. Still, I owe Wattpad the exposure I have right now. I'm not a popular writer but at least I'm earning extra income that can help me cover some expenses.

To be a signed writer on Wattpad is invitational. They will invite you if you're story is qualified. For us, Filipino writers, it's limited to few well-known writers only. I don't know exactly how many they are right now but the last thing I remember, there are only 11 Filipino writers are in the paid program. I tried to apply before since I have a book there with almost 4M reads but they replied that the paid writers are limited and that they're 11 only.
