Easter is a time for cuteness: cute bunnies, cute baby chicks, cute colored Easter eggs, and in the world of vintage art, it heralds the arrival of the cute kids. These vintage Easter cards feature some great examples of how cute kids were prominent as subjects in holiday art.

Some of the best examples of cute kid art -- for any holiday, not just Easter -- were created by Ellen Clapsaddle. Ellen was an amazingly talented artist and was also the most prolific greeting card painter ever. You can see three examples of her cards below (the little boy with the pink egg on his back, the little girl in the pink dress with the two Easter baskets and the Easter bunny, and the two little kids playing in the flowerpots). You can also find many more of Ellen Clapsaddle's card designs for all the major holidays in my collection of free vintage art. I've become quite an admirer of hers as my collection has grown and I've seen her incredible repertoire.

Personally, I love to make handmade cards out of these images. But I know people use them for a lot of other reasons. If you'd like to share how you plan to use them, please scroll down and look in the right column to vote in my vintage Easter cards poll. Also, be sure to read the instructions below to download the best versions of the cards.

Instructions for Downloading the Vintage Cute Kids Easter Cards

Choose a thumbnail of any of the vertical or horizontal vintage cute kids Easter cards above the large images to the right or below this text. When you click on one of the images, it will appear larger.

IMPORTANT: Once you've chosen an image and see it larger, double-click on the larger image, which will make the best version of the art appear. Sorry for the extra step, but this will give you the highest quality art.

If you have a PC, just right-click and save the final version of the artwork to your hard drive. If you're a Mac user, control-click the image until you get a pop-up menu that will give you an option to save the file on your hard drive.

About These Vintage Easter Cards

These cards came to me in varying states of readiness to be printed and used. That meant some of them needed cropping and straightening. I was able to do that quickly in Picasa, a free image management program. To learn more about how you can use it for your photos and other images, read my Picasa review.
