Hallmark's The Polar Express Hot Chocolate and Coffee Mugs
Hot Chocolate Never Tasted So Good As When Served On The Polar Express Train
The Polar Express is a timeless children's picture book that was written by Chris Van Allsburg and made into a motion capture computer-animated children's movie in 2005. It is a beautiful Christmas film, one that I am sure it is destined to become a Christmas classic.
Fans of the story know that the children aboard The Polar Express drink, according to the author, "hot cocoa as thick and rich as melted chocolate bars" and that the hot chocolate is served in oversized mugs with saucers.
If you love the movie and in particular the hot chocolate scene, you will love the hot chocolate coffee mug that was produced by Hallmark. It's a near exact replica of the mug you see in the hot chocolate scene from the movie. It is possibly too nice to drink from but definitely calls out for a serving of the best hot chocolate complete with a dollop of whip cream on top.
Authentic Polar Express Hot Chocolate Mug
An exact replica of the mug and saucer used in the movie
What fun to drink your hot chocolate in an exact replica of The Polar Express hot chocolate mug!
As you can tell by the picture by wolfy73 of this little guy drinking the last of his hot chocolate, the mug is very generously sized. It actually measures 5 inches across the top and 3 inches in height. When new, it was originally packaged in an attractive gift box.
This mug is out-of-production and is somewhat hard to find, which unfortunately has driven the price higher and higher. I certainly understand why. It's just so darn nice and who wouldn't want to drink their hot chocolate from it?

The Hot Chocolate Scene From The Polar Express Movie
In case you missed it...
All of the animation in The Polar Express was created based on human characers using a live action performance capture technique, which uses the movements of live actors and turns them into animated characters. That is all of the characters EXCEPT for the waiters who give out the hot chocolate. Watch this short video and you will remember why it was impossible for real actors to do what the waiters did and you will find Tom Hanks quite recognizable as the train conductor.
