Free Vintage St. Patricks Day and Irish Clip Art

Did you know that St. Patrick's Day started out as a religious holiday in ancient times? (That's probably why so many people look for vintage St. Patrick's Day clip art -- because it's old!) The holiday was originally celebrated as the anniversary of St. Patrick of Ireland's death in the fifth century. How we got from that to leprechauns, shamrocks and green beer is one for the historians.

No matter how it happened, St. Patrick's Day has evolved into a holiday that you don't have to be Irish to enjoy. And if you're a crafter, scrapbooker or designer, I'm sure you'll enjoy using this free vintage St. Patrick's Day clip art to embellish your holiday projects.

If you're still young and go to school, you might just want to print out one of these cute images and pin it to your clothes so you don't get pinched for not wearing green! I remember being pinched on St. Patrick's Day when I was young and it wasn't very pleasant.
