Carving Tools
You can perfectly get by with the plastic tools you get at the stores, but if you want more details and a quicker way of carving, use these wood carving tools. They cut through the pumpkins like butter.
Tiggers Don't Like Honey!
Skill Level: Easy
Super easy if you use my way of carving. You can see the detailed instructions with pictures on my Blog Ez Pumpkin Carving basically you spray the back of the stencil with spray adhesive, glue it onto the pumpkin and carve through the paper and the pumpkin at the same time. No transferring of the pattern. For a more stable pumpkin I gut the pumpkin after I've carved the pumpkin.
With this template start at the nose and work your way out
Pooh Bear Think Think Think
Still Level: Medium
Black = Cut
Gray = scrape
Using my method of gluing the template to the pumpkin Cut the the black first. Then using a thumbtack or thin nail poke holes close together to transfer the pattern onto the pumpkin. Then scrape, start at the nose and the the eye first
Eeyore
Still Level: Hard
This is all scraping, I personally love scraping and when you've got the right tools goes by quickly. This will be a very detail pumpkin and the envy of your neighbors. It's really not that hard.
Glue The Stencil on
Poke holes close together
Scrape started at the eyes and work your way out
Omg I a Mistake!
Use Tooth Picks
As you can see from this picture there was a lot of toothpicks used. If you don't want to see them in the final product just cut the ends.
On the scraped parts of the pumpkin I have accidentally shaved off an eyebrow and lost the part ... I simply made a new part out of the left over pumpkin skin and spray adhesive to glue it back on.

Nice idea to add Winnie-the-pooh carving on pumpkins for halloween. I'm not very up to date with what children are enjoying these days, but I'm sure anything to do with Disney will go down well.
