To me Canada is the sort of place you wished the whole world was like. Canada has a history, culture, beautiful countryside, and a very civilised, peace loving community.
One of my first gir freind;s that I met in Sydney was visiting from Vancouver.
I always kind of wondered how my life might have tuned out had I pursued her back to Canada. I was gobsmacked by her beauty outwardly and inwardly. Anyway it was not to be.
I was very keen on Snow Skiing in the 1980's. I always hoped to visit the snowfields of Canada. i just knew it would be an experience to forever treasure.
I still have a trip to a Canadian skiing right up there on my Bucket List.
One thing I really love is the Toronto to Vancouver railway which stretches across some of the most beautiful and breathtaking country in the world. On such a trip you will be in awe at probably the most spectacular scenery you will find anywhere. Look you can go on the Orient Express you can go on the Ghan in Australia but for me there is only one rail if you have only one choice that is the Toronto to Vancouver rail.
It has been reported that Canada is the only country in the world with a constitution linking its formation to the building of a railway line. According to historical evidence British Columbia threatened to join the United States if it was not given its own rail line. The Canadian Government heard the message and 4,000 miles of railroad were built across the nation from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Since then, trains have played a pivotal part in Canada's history. Today, VIA Rail line continues the traditional passenger rail service of CN and CPR Railways of bringing Canadians closer together at the same time the journey offers views of spectacular beauty of the countryside to passengers.
the Corridor Trains cover VIA's busiest routes, between
Quebec City and Windsor by way of Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto,
affordable downtown to downtown service.
Additionally pay-per-use wireless
internet (wi-fi) service is now available on all trains within the
Quebec City corridor.

Thank You for this "Totally Awesome" Description of Canada! We have a daughter on the Eastern Side , near the Bay of Fundy, and visited her only twice in the last 4 Years. But Honestly, we can't get enough of this Absolute Beautiful Country and its People!
We know, that BC and the Western Part is unspeakable Beautiful, but the Eastern Part too,has it's own Beauty!
Do You want to walk on the Ocean Floor? Bay of Fundy has the Highest Tide in the World, 8m and more at High Tide - imagine walking there on the Floor of the Ocean at low Tide, just Magical! Or Prince Edward Island, where the Story of "Anne of Green Gables" originated, and so much more!
Canada is a endless Fountain of History, Beauty and wonderful People! We hope to do the Train Ride one Day soon, from Vancouver to the East!

Great hub. We took that train from Toronto to Vancouver once...before it became prohibitively expensive. I was about 17 or 18. Due to a mixup, we did not get sleepers. However, it was a wonderful trip and the scenery was magnificent.
Tony McGregor from South Africa on April 28, 2010:
Have visited Canada and loved it. Would still like to do the train ride, though.
