14th August Celebrations
Every year, the Independence Day has been celebrated with traditional zeal. Pakistan was declared as a sovereign state in 1947 following the end of British Raj.
With millions of sacrifices, the Muslim Country “Pakistan” emerged on the map of the world on 14 August 1947. It is our day of Independence. This day has significant importance for the whole nation. On this joyous day, a public holiday is announced.
Muslims, as well as people from minor communities, celebrate this day with great excitement. Stalls having pictures of Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal, and Pakistan logo are printed on badges and flags. Bracelets and bangles in white and green color are also available for girls. Even people are very keen to buy T-shirts in White and Green theme. Enthusiastic crowds filled the streets. The peak of nationalism can be seen at every corner of the country.
When the clock struck 12.00 a.m at midnight, everyone stands by and read out loud the National Anthem of Pakistan with full patriotic spirit. Morning prayers are offered and everyone prays for the prosperity and long life of this homeland and thank Allah Almighty for giving this blessed country.
Patriotism is a bonding, a relationship, an attachment with your nation. Solemnly dedication for our future acts portrays an image of our country to the entire world.
People decorate their homes and offices with printed Pakistan logo paper flags, colorful flags, lights and laser lights. Pictures of well-known personalities who contributed to the progress of this country hold an important part in decoration.Changing of guards and a guard of honor at the tombs of Allam Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam is presented by arm forces officials’ that shows respect for what they have done for this country. Different ceremonies are inaugurated in the remembrance of the freedom fighters. Quiz shows, debating programs, and dramas are organized by different schools, colleges, and universities. Seminars on the historic events of Pakistan which highlights the contributions of our ancestors at the time of partition are also conducted.
Independence Day transmission on televisions gets started a week before 14th August. Everyone pays tribute to the lost national heroes.As Pakistani, we do have some responsibilities that need to be fulfilled. We should put effective efforts in various professions as education, business, political career, and research. We should set high goals to strengthen this nation.It’s my proud privilege to be a citizen of this holy motherland where I have human rights and freedom of expression. I take an oath of allegiance in my area of expertise for the betterment of this country. I believe our contributions, devotion, and spirit of patriotism will be helpful for the prosperity of Pakistan.PAKISTAN ZINDABAD.
