The occult and pagan practices have been around historically for thousands of years that have spread from Ancient Babylon> Egypt> Mesopotamia> Persia> Assyria> Rome and into the British Isles.
This article will look deeper into the sinister occult traditions of Halloween within the British Isles and the people who were involved in this pagan celebration.
One of the noted wonders of the world is Stonehenge, which is found on the Salisbury Plains in the southern part of England. This stone circle consists of large blue granite rocks. Archaeologists have dug up over 4,000 human skeletal remains that have been confirmed as human sacrifice offerings on this site.
Circle of Avebury and Stonehenge
The Circle of Avebury is another stone circle which is over a mile in circumference and consisted of multiple stone hedges. These sites throughout Britain were constructed for the worship and sacrifice to pagan gods. From around 900 BC to 900 AD there lived a nomadic tribe of people known as the Celts. Within this tribe were priests known as Druids who had power and authority over people and their activities.
In these historic places (Stonehenge and the Circle of Avebury), the Druids prepared and dictated the worship of pagan gods and human sacrifice on eight occult holidays during the year. On one particular series of nights known as the nights of Samhain, or what is called Halloween today (Oct. 29-31) were the highest nights of human sacrifice of all the other occult celebrations during the calendar year.
Druids and Human Sacrifice
Within the stone circles, the Druids would light huge fires and fill large cauldrons up with a mead like substance and bring it up to rapid boiling temperature.
During the evenings, the Druids would leave the stone circles and go trick or treating throughout the local areas and the countryside to places of nobility and knock on their doors. A treat was given to the owner of the property only if someone was given over to them from their household for human sacrifice to their pagan gods. The treat was a pumpkin, gourd or turnip that was filled with human fat that was lit and placed at the entrance of the castle, manor or house as a means fof protection from the demonic forces that they would summon.
The trick was performed if the owner was not compliant with their demands. The Druids would paint a six-pointed star with a circle around it in blood on the door which would allow all the summoned demonic forces to enter into the household and kill with fright.
As the nights progressed, the many people that were rounded up for sacrifice were put into a large wicker reed figure that had a head, arms and legs. This figure was built up to 35 feet tall and was made from reeds that the Celtic warriors had gathered the week in advance. Inside the wicker man were cages where humans, animals and food offerings were placed. During the evening ceremony, the Druids set the wicker man on fire as an offering to the god of fire, Konanos and the Celtic lord of the dead, Samhain.
Once the wicker man was to capacity, the Druids had a game that they would play with the extra ones who were left out. Inside of the cauldrons there was a liquid substance had been rapidly boiling for hours. In order for those to earn their freedom, apples were thrown into this boiling liquid and they were told that if they could bob for the apples with their heads and grab the apple, they would go free. Otherwise, those who refused were beheaded. Unfortunately, those that chose to bob for the apples became so physically burnt from the liquid that it melted their flesh, blinded their eyes, caused respiratory and ear canal damage along with hair loss.
The Druids wore masks with hooded robes with occult symbols that they had painted on them. During these nights they believed that the boundary or veil between the physical and spiritual was at its thinnest. The symbols and masks they used were for magical protection to control the demonic malevolent spirits that crossed over from the other side.
Today, Halloween is celebrated with costumes and outfits, people go out and trick or treat, carve pumpkins and play games such as bobbing for apples, but they are ignorant of its origins and practices.
Many who claim to worship God celebrate Halloween traditions somehow think it is okay to involving themselves in pagan traditions and rituals. Unfortunately, many do not realize that engaging in this occult holiday is an abomination to God.
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that useth divination, a soothsayer, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or one that consulteth a ghost or a familiar spirit, or a necromancer. For whosoever doeth these things is an abomination unto the LORD; and because of these abominations the LORD thy God is driving them out from before thee. - Deuteronomy 18:10-12
It’s time to wake up stop walking the fence and make a wholehearted decision to research, learn and abstain from the traditions of man and the appearance of evil.
And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, NEITHER BEAR THE SHAME OF THE HEATHEN NO MORE. – Ezekiel 34:29
MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE: because thou hast rejected knowledge… - Hosea 4:6
Many will make claims that Halloween is simply a harmless innocent tradition, but they are in compromise.
The Druids esteemed this holiday and no amount of religious alternatives like 'Holy-ween,' or 'Trunk-or-Treat' are going to change that. Participating in any of the Halloween rituals all have their origins in Druid occult ritual.
Halloween is a night where evil is glorified.
Deception is to make evil look good and fun. The worship of the one true God is to not conform to pagan traditions.

This article will investigate the concepts of Christmas. Under the gloss and glow of this celebration is a deception that is steeped in the traditions of man.

Many are unaware of the legend and history behind the traditions they celebrate. They will say, 'Jesus is the reason for the season,' but what they do not know is that the 'reason' is synonymous with another man-god from ancient Babylon.

My source for the bobbing apple ritual is from the DVD from Doc Marquis, 'America's Occult Holidays.'
Ejay on October 30, 2018:
Can I ask what evidence source you have for the apple bobbing ritual ? I disagree with allowing kids to take part in the ritual anyway, but druids say this practice didn't happen, is an urban myth, and that the practice was brought into the UK much later by the Romans, as a divination practice foretelling marriage and children, honouring the goddess Pomona, a fertility goddess.

You are welcome to your personal opinions concerning Halloween. The evidence I have provided reveals its origins from what I have researched. How you feel about my personal beliefs will not change the historical meaning and origin of Halloween.
I have in fact done historical research concerning my "religion," but this article is about Halloween is it not? therefore, there is no reason to go down rabbit trails with you with your red herrings that do not apply to this article. If you are skeptical about the evidence I have provided, you are welcome to provide the contrary.

A pagan holiday? You should research the history of your own religion. Halloween is a fun day for the kids to go out and collect candy & have parties. It's also an excuse for adults to work off some stress & go to parties. I myself don't dress up or go to parties on Halloween (I believe it is more for children than adults), but I take my daughters out trick-or-treating.
Leave it to some delusional religious fanatic to try to ruin even a holiday for the kids. What should our children be doing on Halloween? Going to church and praying to a make-belief invisible sandal-footed bearded man-god? A god that just happens to be a white male like you?
It is amazing that people like you will research the history of what TODAY is a fun holiday for children & YET never research your own philosophical beliefs. No, it is easier to just claim a magical spirit enters your brain and tells you all the secrets of life. That is called crazy. Of course if you are a Christian speaking of Christianity it makes sense. But if your a Christian speaking of Judaism, then maybe not? Islam, maybe not? or any of the thousands of other made up philosophical answers to creation.
If you truly want to trash a fun holiday than I challenge you to research Christianity. You do know the bible was not written by god. The bible is a collection of stories handed down generation after generation & collected in a man-written book. Ask any honest priest & he will tell you so. The bible has no more answers than Grimm Fairy Tales. I suggest you research HISTORY.
A couple of examples. Heaven was a creation of the Jews. It existed outside the dome that surrounded the Earth. Inside the dome was the Sun, the Moon & all the stars. A great ocean existed just outside the dome. That is why winged angels were created to open the doors to let it rain. God's kingdom was just outside the dome. Read real historical & factual accounts of history. Not fiction or made-up "spiritual feelings."

I agree that the Druids with their Wickerman sacrifices are evil and disgusting. This is Satanic. Its also disgusting and immoral that for Halloween there are Haunted Hayrides and Haunted Houses and a resurgence in showing horror movies and horror novels such as Saw The Exorcist The Texas Chainsaw Massacre etc. The Afterdark Horrorfest series of horror movies distributed bu Lionsgate has the most disgusting and horrific horror movies imaginable with everything from torture to killing to cannibalism to satanism. Every vile horrible thing is depicted. Cruelty torture killing death entropy malevolence deviancy. It's a depiction of all manner of evil. Haunted hayrides show for "entertainment" costumed actors posing as vampires zombies monsters etc carrying knives axes and other weapons. Skulls skeletons coffins tombstones and demonic and Satanic masks and costumes are sold. All that is loathsome horrible and evil are depicted on Halloween. Its also unwise having kids go to strangers houses begging for candy. There are sickos out there in houses and candy causes tooth decay diabetes and obesity which are horrors in themselves. Halloween has a sinister history and sinister qualities. Some call Halloween Satan's holiday.

Planks, I couldn't agree with you more! :0)
PlanksandNails (author) on March 28, 2012:
Halloween is a purely pagan, occult holiday. The symbols of Halloween that are used today still portray the true meaning of the day.
Whether you are carving a pumpkin, bobbing for apples, and/or trick or treating, thinking about Jesus while you are doing it does not change the historical fact and meaning, nor justifies it as honoring God no matter what way "Christians" try to spin it.
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen - Jeremiah 10:2
Halloween is the high Sabat of Samhain for witches around the world; unfortunately many "Christians " symbolically partake in their activities too.
Thanks for reading.
