Throw The Best Monkey Themed Baby Shower Ever!
Your guests will go bananas when they see all the clever ways that you've incorporated monkeys in the baby shower theme! Recently several party supply companies added monkey themed tableware patterns that are perfect for baby showers - they come in both blue and pink which means that you can throw this fun party whether Mom is having a baby girl or a baby boy.
Monkey Shower Tableware
When it comes to the invitations and tableware, I am a HUGE fan of buying party packs that include everything you need to throw a themed baby shower all in one kit. I love party packs because they often save you tons of time and all of the items will be fully coordinated. You don't have to worry whether the pattern/colors from one vendor will match the stuff you find at another vendor. The party pack to the right is available from Baby Gifts & Gift Baskets. They have tableware party packs available for just about any baby shower theme that you can think of including a monkey baby shower. Some companies sell packs that just include the tableware (plates, napkins, and cups for each guest) while others sell a more complete package that includes not only the tableware, but also a personalized baby shower banner, the invitations, tablecloth, baby shower favors, balloons, and even the games. Basically a baby shower in a box - what could be easier!
Monkey Party Decorations
The photos above and to the right are from a Real Monkey Party design submitted to Hostess With The Mostess. The party designer Shawna said she wanted to transport party guests to the treetops and I'd say that she accomplished that based on these photographs. She utilized plush monkeys throughout the shower décor, hanging them on trees, from the ceiling, and the buffet table. She also used bunches of bananas throughout the décor. Looks pretty amazing in my opinion.
Other fun ideas for a monkey themed baby shower are to use twisted green paper and streamers to create vines that hang from the ceiling. You can use fake ficus and palm trees throughout the shower area and hang some plush and blow-up monkeys from them. You can use palm tree and monkey pinatas as centerpieces or to hang from the ceiling as well.
When it comes to the food and beverages, there are lots of great ideas. Serve the punch in some of those plastic coconut shaped cups that you can buy at party supply shops. When it comes to food, think about the tropics and bananas. How about some tropical fruit kabobs featuring pineapple, mango, papaya, and strawberries on sticks or frozen banana pops with chocolate dipping sauce. Or maybe some mango salsa with chips or coconut and banana trail mix. The possibilities are endless.
And no monkey themed baby shower is complete without a monkey face cake so be sure to check out the video below that shows you how to create an adorable monkey cake step-by-step.

Monkey Themed Baby Shower Gifts
All kinds of online and local party shops sell baby gifts that would be perfect for a monkey themed shower. Two of my favorites from Baby Gifts & Gift Baskets are the little monkey security blanket and the monkey comfy cozy from Gund. In addition, you can find jungle themed gift baskets that feature not only monkeys, but also elephants, giraffes, lions, and other creatures from the wild. You could also consider a safari or jungle themed diaper cake that could do double duty as the shower centerpiece and as a gift to the expectant Mom.
Monkey Shower Favors
No baby shower is complete without some fabulous favors to send home with your guests. They'll go wild over any favor that has a jungle theme. Personally I love the animal themed edible and practical favors like the ones shown to the right. Not only do they have a monkey theme, but they are also personalized with the baby shower date and Mom's name to make them extra special. What a great thank you gift to show your guests how much you appreciate them sharing in the wild party you put together for the Mom-to-be.
