Don't freak out
Sometimes it can take time for the family to adjust to different changes especially if they're not used to it but over time they'll accept and understand why you chose another eating lifestyle. Don't try to push your beliefs on to people because that will just push them away also, sometimes people can be stuck in their ways because they are used to do the same things for decades even centuries maybe will make them not listen to what you have to say. Just play it cool and relax side note only 0.5% of Americans are vegetarian.
More things to know
this a very important thing to remember during the holidays or when you are a guest of a non-vegetarian host. Let them know of your dietary needs well in advance not when you show up for Thanksgiving at the last minute and take responsibility on your own to ensure that your needs are met. If you don't have enough time to cook anything one suggestion I would make is that you could bring Tofurky gravy or stuffing and Trader Joe's and Wholefoods offers plant-based turkey. I forgot to mention that you can purchase vegetarian turkey deli slices, such as Tofurky’s cranberry deli slices depending on where you're located at you can get vegan/ vegetarian delivered to your front door. If your hosting guest that are meat-free here are some tips for you as well instead of using a meat-based broth such as turkey there are other options such as Better Than Boullion vegetarian no chicken base, vegetable broth and there are several easy vegetarian chicken stock recipes online. Here are some of my favorite plant-based YouTubers if you need some ideas Rainbow Plant Life and Rachel Ama
