Hot and Cold Holiday Drinks to Make for Christmas

It is a season to be jolly. Christmas season is here again and its time to enjoy! .The holidays are without a doubt a time to spend with family and loved ones. However, it can all be overwhelming to plan out an itinerary and a menu. To help you get started here are some recipes for delicious hot or cold drinks that are easy and festive.

Christmas Hot Chocolate is always made with milk, sugar, and cocoa powder, then topped with Candy Cane Whipped Cream. It's a delicious treat that you'll want to drink all winter. It's simple to create and a wonderful treat for kids and adults, with just a little preparation and a few simple ingredients.

This holiday why not spice it up by making in it in three ways.

Here is how to make Hot cocoa in 3 ways..

Ingredients :

6 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped

4 cups whole milk

1/4 cup chocolate syrup


In a large sauce pan over medium-low heat add the milk and bring to simmer. Do not boil. whisk Until chocolate is melted. Turn off heat. Whisk vigorously to form the foam. Then add the following ingredients to make hot chocolate you desire respectively.

1.Gingerbread hot chocolate

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamons

1/2 teaspoon allspice

1/2 ground ginger

1/2 vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon sea salt


Whipped cream


Little ginger men

2.Peppermint hot chocolate

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 peppermint extract


Whipped cream

Crushed peppermint chocolate

Candy cane

3.Fluffernutter hot chocolate

1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup marshmallow fluff


Chopped roasted Peanuts

Mini marshmallows Instagram

4. French hot chocolate

For all your posh friends or family you can make a French chocolate instead. It's classy , tasty and easy to make.


Whole milk 300ml

Sugar 10g

70% bittersweet chocolate 70g

drops of vanilla extract

Cinnamon 1

Cocoa powder 5g

Pinch of salt



Chop the 70g of chocolate finely to or as chunky as you desire and Set aside. Next use a knife or vegetable peeler to shave the chocolate to flat stripes.

Preheat oven at 230 °C and bake marshmallow for 3 minutes until golden brown

  • Add the cinnamon,few drops of vanilla extract and milk in a large sauce pan over a low heat until you can smell the flavor of cinnamon. It Should take about 8 minutes.
  • Remove cinnamon,add the cocoa powder,sugar and just a little bit of salt,stir constantly until all is dissolved.
  • Finally add the chopped chocolate. Cook until melted and thickens. Garnish with the marshmallow and enjoy

Not everyone is Keen on having hot drinks during the festive season ,others prefer to have cold drinks instead. They are non alcoholic and and are suited for everyone.Super easy and very delicious.

5.Mango majito

This is more of a summer drink however, you can try it. You will only need a few ingredients.

Honey/ mapple syrup- 2 to 3 tbsp
Ice cubes
Soda water


1.Make puree of mango in a mixer grinder with the same amount of water.
2. In a glass add lemon wedges And mint leaves and press them with the help of a muddler

3. Add 3 to 4 tbsp lemon juice to it, mix well and keep aside
4. In a serving glass add 3 to 4 tbsp lemon mint concentrate .Add some mango chunks to it
5. Now some ice cubes and 5-6 tbsp mango puree in the glass along with some honey.
6.Add some mint leaves and lemon slice and top it up with soda water

6.Christmas non alcoholic punch

This is a traditional Christmas family favourite. It's delightful and very festive.


Ice-(1 large bag)
2 litres ( 8 1/2 cups) cranberry juice
700ml (3 cups) pomegranate juice
500 ml (2 cups) clementine juice( use orange juice)

Juices of two lines
3 limes - sliced
3 clementine- sliced
100g ( 1 cup) fresh or frozen cranberries
Seeds from 1 pomegranate
Small bunch of mint leaves


1.Add a bag of ice to a punch bowl
Pour the cranberry juice, 2.promegranat juice and clementine juice
3.Add the juice of two lines and stir
4.Add the lime sliced, clementine slices, 5.cranberries and pomegranate seeds

8.Christmas lights.

Another Christmas classic that your entire guests will love . simple and refreshing to drink.

2 oz cranberry juice,

lemon juice (.5 oz)

2 oz sorrel tea (homemade)

Kombucha that isn't fermented


Shake all of the ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker and strain into a champagne flute. Garnish with a clove-studded orange twist and kombucha.
