How To Make A Halloween Meatloaf
Most of us who cook already have a favorite meatloaf recipe we use, and that's the perfect recipe to use when you make your Halloween meatloaf. The ingredients you like are the best choices you can make when cooking. The difference with this meatloaf is not it's flavor, it's how you mold and assemble it. It's not just going to look anything like your usual family meatloaf. This one will thrill and send chills to your family and friends when you bring it to the table. My favorite recipe for meatloaf is on this page, so if you want to try it, please be my guest.
I Make Onion Soup Meatloaf
The recipe I use to mix up a meatloaf is on the Lipton Onion Soup Mix box. It's easy and flavorful. Here's what you will need to make it:
- 2 pounds lean ground beef or chicken, turkey, or a combo of beef and pork
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix - I like Lipton or Knorr's
- 2 eggs - beat them
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
I like to combine the soup mix, the water, the ketchup in a bowl and let them set a while to "soften" the soup mix up before I mix all the ingredients together.
Then mix all the ingredients together, mix well. Now you've got your basic meatloaf and it's time to check below to see how you are going to mold this mix. Did you pick the hands, the feet, the monster, or the skull?
You will need some extra ingredients to make the wrappings for the mummy, the toenails and fingernails for the foot or hand loaf, any eyes you might need... these extras are simple. The mummy is wrapped in puff or refrigerated dough, the eyes are cheese and olives, the nails for hands or feet are onions pieces. Ketchup is bloody looking... that's pretty much it.
How To Make A Mummy Meatloaf
Use cheese and olives to make the eyes! Can't wait to hear about how much your family loved this super scary Halloween dinner surprise! This is a pretty large meatloaf. It is made with 2 pounds of meat and it comes from an old Womans' Day magazine from some years ago.
The ingredients used in this video to make the meatloaf include:
- 2 pound of chopped meat
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 tsp of salt and pepper
- 1 box of stovetop stuffing mixed with 3/4 cup water
and for later you will need
- 1 pie pastry for mummy linens - Don't add this to the mixed ingredients above. The pie pastry is to "dress" the mummy when the meatloaf is done cooking!
- Mozzarella cheese or egg whites, olives, capers to make the eyes!
Mix all the ingredients (except the pie pastry) and then mold the meat mix into a skull shape. Make eye sockets in the skull shape. Put it into a greased baking dish and bake for 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees.
Cut 1/8" thick pie pastry into 1/2" strips. When the meatloaf is done cooking for the 30-40 minutes, take it out of the oven and wrap the partly baked skull loaf with the strips in a mummy like fashion. Leave the eye holes alone! Put the mummy loaf back in the oven and cook for about 30-40 minutes.
Add some eyes - You can use Mozzarella cheese circles and black olives, or you can use some boiled egg white circles, olives, and capers. Serve your mummy loaf up with some ketchup.
How To Make A Meatloaf Mummy With Puff Or Muffin Dough
This Mummy Meatloaf is wrapped with Puff dough or refrigerated Muffin dough. The mummy's eyes are made from olives.
How do you make this nummy mummy? Mix up your meatloaf ingredients, shape them in a baking pan into the shape of this mummy. It reminds me a bit of a bowling pin in shape. Then wrap your meat mummy in slivers of cut dough strips. Pop him (or her) in the oven and bake until your recipe is done. Add olives for eyes and your good to serve up a mummified dinner.
Scary Killer Meatloaf
This delicious and frightening looking Halloween meatloaf was wrapped with bacon. Bacon lovers are going to kill for this recipe! Onions became its eyes and almonds became its teeth.
First mix up your meatloaf ingredients. Then shape it into a scary looking monster like this mummy head. Add onions for eyes and almonds for teeth. Wrap the mummy meat skull in bacon for a gory, exposed muscle frightfeast. Watch the video for more details!
How To Make A Halloween Foot Loaf
Is it Foot Loaf or Feet Loaf? Whatever you call this, it is a meatloaf mix that is molded into the shapes of feet. Watch the video to see the how to's and use their recipe if you choose, or mix your own favorite loaf recipe up.
Separate your meat mix into two equal batches. Shape each of the batches into a foot.
Press up by the heel to form an ankle. Make the top of each ankle hallow so you can put a "bone" (really it's just half an onion) in there. Take some layers of this onion to make 10 toe nails to add to the toes of each foot once you mold them. Add some ketchup to the ankle area to make it look like blood. Bake and serve! If you use this recipe, it does suggest you bake this frightfully fun footloaf for about 1 hour.
If you and your family love bacon, you can wrap these feet in bacon strips before you cook it!
