Teach Your Children Well; for The Truth Will Set Them Free

God Bless America, Land that I Love, Stand beside her and guide her, thru the night, with a Light from above...

Honoring America

Recently, while out for a car ride with my young grand daughter, all on her own, without persuasion, she began to count each and every American flag she saw.

She had just learned to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, so this may have had something to do with it.

When she couldn't count any higher, she started saying, "and there's another one."

I love watching the American flag blow freely in the breeze, especially those big jumbo-sized ones, we'll often see along the Interstate.

They will grab my attention as quickly as a sunset across the evening sky bidding us a good night or a sunrise shining morning light throughout the sky, welcoming in...a brand new bright and beautiful day!

I swelled up with such pride, not just because there were so many American flags, more flags than my young granddaughter could possibly count, in front of office buildings, post offices, banks and homes, but because she noticed them and deemed them worthy of counting.

She has been attending a small town Independence Day parade almost every year of her life, holding precious little American flags, in her precious little hands.

Now she has two little brothers to share these experiences with.

  • On America's birthday...they experience a day like no other; starting with a very patriotic morning parade honoring America, followed up with lots of good food and special treats throughout the day, ending up with colorful and majestic displays, lighting up the nighttime sky. If they don't have a flag or a rib or a cupcake in their hands, it will only be because something twinkly and sparkly will be taking up that space!

They are young, but they enjoy learning about America and they definitely love celebrating America.

Freedom is not Free

Whether it is the fourth day of July, our Independence Day, and we are out enjoying all the festivities and the fireworks or just out for a car ride, in this amazing Country of ours; our Military, Police Officers, National Guard, Border Patrol and countless others, will be out doing what they do best.

They place themselves in harm's way, so that my precious grandchildren will be safe, all while protecting our precious and sacred freedom!

We've become complacent, forgetting that Freedom doesn't come...

for free!

Freedom is a blessing, which must be guarded at all costs:

  • This isn't taught in schools, as it once was
  • Some children never notice the flag, because it doesn't mean anything to them, they haven't been properly taught what it represents or have been fed lies
  • For some, the only thing they've noticed about the American flag, is that many adults, they look up to, seem to have a problem with it and seem to have a problem with the National anthem. For them, that's reason enough to have a problem...for reasons they do not comprehend nor understand.....

It’s such a shame that when speaking of patriotism, so many seem to think of it as, a thing of the past, antiquated, something which needs to be explained!

Many of our leaders will place themselves in front of a line of flags for a photo opportunity, but it is often all for show. We need to know that the person we elect for the highest office in the land, loves this Country unconditionally!

My preference is that patriotism spread throughout this land, so fast that heads are spinning and so fast, that the hate, the lies, the constant division-inducing manipulation, currently spreading...can't come close to keeping up and can't come close to competing

A Prayer

Dear Lord, please watch over our guardians; the many men and women who continually stand at the ready... protecting us, this land, our precious children, grandchildren and our precious freedom!

From our military to law enforcement, from the highway patrol to the border patrol, please keep them safe!

Please continue to watch over our representation in Government, guiding them, protecting them as they work to do what's right for this Country and for her Constituents.

Thank you for our treasured children, may they always be learning in positive environments, free from agendas and activism, by those whom truly have a Teacher's heart!

Thank you for your continual blessings and protection over this great Nation, may we never take it, or you our Heavenly Father, for granted.

Amen and Amen

Thanks for commenting Susan.

I initially had my doubts about a President Trump, but as was the case with President Obama, I kept an open mind.

With Obama, although he had already told us the type of President he wanted to be and (turned out to be), I thought, maybe he'll get into the Office and it will change him.

Lord knows that didn't happen!

With Trump, the Office seems to have strengthened his Resolve. So far, so good.

No doubt, he loves this Country. No doubt he has a spine of steel and no doubt he'll always put America's best interest First!

It will be very interesting to see how his meeting goes with Putin today!

I have to agree with you. The democrats and liberals alike are trying to destroy our President's image as one who loves the United States of America. I know more than one who are joining in on these crazy protests. One day, when they're older, much older, when they have children and grandchildren, they'll have a change of heart. At least I hope so.

We just watched an awesome parade with Veterans and Cub Scouts and Bands, (some organized, some not so decked out Horses, smiling, waving children, Vintage cars and a million flags. Love it!

Enjoy the Party Paula, I sure am!❤

a.b. Yes, I'm with you! Patriotism is alive and well in my family and throughout our part of the country. The celebrations, fanfare & fireworks began over the week-end and of course into tonight when the Grand Fireworks display will light up the skies.

Luckily I'm able to enjoy it all from my back deck, with friends and family. The kids will be roasting hot dogs and melting smores over an open campfire, as we wish our GREAT Nation another Happy Birthday. We are blessed and we are proud. P

Happy Birthday America!

Ronnie, nobody expects you to celebrate, especially with your crappy attitude. I am of German decent too. There is no way I would even acknowledge the Nazis or Hitler. Nazis were NOT German, they were exactly that, NAZIS. No way I would celebrate them. But, I will celebrate INDEPENDANCE DAY 100% along with every other REAL AMERICAN.

Ronnie wrenchBiscuit on July 03, 2017:

No, it has to do with the fact that people are slowly becoming more educated and aware. No one expects my German relatives to honor Nazi celebrations. But because many Americans do not respect the humanity of the African and my Indigenous ancestors, they expect us to forget the horrors of slavery and colonialism. They also expect us to ignore the continuing racist oppression and to join in with the celebration. But educated people of color, and white people with a sense of morality will celebrate only when the evil that came to these shores in 1492 is less than a memory.

Don't apologize...he just keeps on keeping on doesn't he?

I'll never let him dampen my Spirits, never have before and I'll not start now.

Happy Independence Day Greg!
