The Daughters are the Most Precious Gifts of God.

Being the mother of a lovely daughter, I can convincingly say, that the Daughters are the most precious and great gifts of God.

Life can be so colourful and happy, with a daughter' s presence.

She is vital for the fathers and brothers, and of course for the mothers.

As she grows, you can clearly see a friend, a well wisher, and a person, whom you can always look forward to, in times of happiness or sorrow.

She will always stand by you, and will never leave you alone.

The best compliment that a mother can get, with regard to her daughter is, when people are heard saying, 'She is just like you.'

Similarly, a daughter feels delighted, when people say, 'You have grown up into a fine and graceful woman, just like your mother.'

A daughter is a little girl, who grows up into a closest friend and any girl, who has been a good daughter, is sure to become a good wife.

Self Made Gift Ideas, for Daughter’s day, or any day

My daughter is very fond of giving gifts, as well as receiving them. And I don't think, you need an occasion, to gift something, to the people you love, and care for.

While many gifts can be purchased from the market or Online, I always want to gift her something, self created.

1. My gift to my daughter:

An Album of her childhood, containing photographs or sweet memories, along with her brothers and parents.

My daughter is due to get married in near future, so obviously she will have to leave me for her husband' s home. I have created an album, which contains selected, special, unforgettable moments and stages of her childhood.

There were no mobile cameras, when my children were younger. We had some still photography cameras, in which picture rolls were inserted. And we had to wait for the printed pictures to be processed, till the whole picture roll was used, and developed. Then, we had to wait for the right moment, to click a picture. It was a long wait. In other words, photography wasn’t that easy, as it is nowadays.

Although, daughters do not forget, but making an album of those precious memories, will be a sweet reminder of her family, her parents, brothers and grandparents and other family members.

2. My second gift to my daughter:

A recipe collection book, containing favourite family recipes, all handwritten by me.

There can be so many recipes, which can be learnt and prepared. But still, there are some family favourites, some special mother' s recipe, or some other ones, prepared on special occasions or festivals.

I thought it to be a wonderful idea, to write them by myself, and gift them to my daughter. I know, she would be thrilled to get this gift.

5 Simple, Yet Precious Gift Ideas, For Daughters

There can be so many gift ideas, for your darling daughter. Being a mother, you know about her choices. It could be a Jewelry piece, or a lovely dress, or trendy shoes, or even some books.

Here are some gift ideas, which are most common, and the girls love them, at any time, or at any occasion.

1. Flowers or Flower Bouquet:

There are plenty of gifts to choose from, but I think nothing can be as fresh and beautiful, as the beautiful Flowers.

Fresh, fragrant flowers are the best, to express your love and affection for your daughter. You can choose, from the flowers of your daughter' s choice.

Arrange it, in such a way, that she receives the bouquet in the morning, as a pleasant surprise, and see the sparkle in her eyes.

2. Perfumes:

Now, which girl does not like Fragrances or Perfumes. As a mother, you must be aware of her favourite fragrance, and how wonderful to surprise her with it, in an attractive gift pack.

Remember to write a beautiful message, on a beautiful greeting card, expressing your affection, and emotions and see the priceless smile, on her face.

3. Handbags or Cute little money bags

Girls love bags and want many of them, in different colours, shapes and sizes. At least, I can say that about my daughter. They keep on adding new ones, matching with their outfits or shoes.

So, how about adding some more to her collection, and make her happy.

4. Art Pieces or Handicrafts:

Most of the women admire Art, and they always want to collect beautiful Art and Handicraft pieces, and feel proud and privileged, by doing so.

India has a very rich heritage of Handicrafts and other forms of Art. You need not even spend lot of money, to buy something beautiful, according to you daughter' s choice.

You can buy beautiful hand made Bangles, antique or tribal ornaments, accessories for wrist, or arms, or feet, beautiful wall hangings, or paintings, woodcraft or metal craft, and so on; the list is endless.

5. A fabulous dinner at her favourite restaurant:

Nothing can be as great as, spending time together, on a special day. Book your seats at her favourite hotel, with delicious food, excellent decoration, and wonderful musical atmosphere.

I am sure, this idea is going to be an unforgettable experience, for you and your daughter.

6. Mobile phones, Laptops, IPad:

In this technological age, your daughter will be thrilled to have some of the above mentioned gifts. They will be useful for her. It would be a good idea to discuss with her, about her requirements before making purchase of these expensive items.

Celebrate a wonderful Mother--Daughter Relationship!

No gifts are required, to express love and affection. In fact, it can very well be felt, by a tender touch, a warm hug, or that adorable expression, in your eyes.

But sometimes, the gifts are used to express the feelings, to speak something, which you have not been able to say, yourself. Therefore, we must go for it. Let your daughter know, how much you love, and care for her.

Thank you Paula Atwell, for your kind visit and comments!

My daughter also loves electronic gadgets, computers, smart phones etc. Rather they are necessary part of her life, since she is a Software Engineer. But there is a feminine side of her also, like many other girls of her age, for which the above mentioned gifts are suitable.

Different girls may have different choices and that's okay.

Thanks for sharing your views!

Paula Atwell from Cleveland, OH on September 22, 2014:

I laughed as I read your list, because my two daughters wouldn't like any of those things. They are so not girly at this age. :) However, the sentiment is the same. My girls like movies, computers, electronic gadgets and tee shirts and jeans. :D

What great ideas. The recipe book of family secret recipes is a real treasure. I wish I had one. Your recipes are great and your daughter will be honored. My Mom's recipe book sort of dissapated from too much use over the years but I have a few of the good ones in my cook book.

The information I could get is that perhaps August 11, is Son and Daughter' s day. But there is no clear answer. May be, We should just create one of our own, to pamper our Sons. Yes, I think I am going to do that!
