Christmas deep in our hearts

I am a Christian who believes with the mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

Christmas celebration

Christmas is always in celebration every 25th of December of each year. All Christians find this day as special to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. This special day is a must already of all Christians. Christians find this special day to have a family gathering in all corner of the globe.

They're using this special day to in memoriam of their happiness with their love ones who already in heaven. Christmas is a day where most people forgive their enemies. Although, not all Christians do that. Christmas is also the time for travel in which most of us go to another place just to explore the destinations not yet visited.

Positive side of Christmas

I love of having Christmas to celebrate. Most of us received gifts, bonuses and other fringed benefits from employers. In view of this, we have lots of reasons to celebrate. This Christmas season is unlimited ideas to celebrate.

Some institutions are using this season to help the poor by means of giving.

Negativity of Christmas

The first few words in this hub are for the positive side of having a Christmas celebration. No one can disagree with that. However, this once in a year celebration has a negative impact also.

This is the day that people will spend with their family and friends. Literally, spend. Not spend time. But spend a lot of money. Using their salary, bonuses and even savings, they uses most of it for this special occasion.

They will spend for beverages, sweet and sour foods but mostly sweets. Buying gifts for love ones as well as themselves too. I mentioned in previous paragraph, travel from one place to another. They are using this special occasion to treat themselves. They're always spending as if there is no tomorrow.

When in an occasion like drinking with friends. Some became so serious, they will open a topic and make a debate. And argumentation follows. In the heated argumentation, one or two of them cannot accept that they lose with that debate. And because, they are already in the influence of an alcohol, they will stub their debater with sharp objects such as knife. As a result, ending the life of an individual, the worst is, more than two killed.

At the eve of Christmas, instead of laughter, you will hear shout and cries at the environment because one of your love ones died in a heated argument.

Loneliness during Christmas day

I did not create this hub because, I had a love one killed during Christmas Eve. But I have known some of my friends who ended killed in an argumentation during drinking session with their friends. They left their family without a father to care. They left their friends unfriend. Of course, the one who killed their debater is now in prison. A prison in which even if already it is Christmas, they celebrate this special occasion in the prison.

Yes, we have lots of options to celebrate during Christmas season but make it sure that we should put this in our heart not in to our mind only. We should feel that Christmas is always there to give love to others not ending the life of others.

This is one of the reasons, why I do not drink that much during any occasion. Every time my friends or coworkers invited for a drink, I have lots of reasons not to attend with just to avoid. Many of you might think, why I am thinking negatively that might happen during drinking session? Although, I drink with my brother but 2 bottles of beer will be my maximum already. And my brother knows that.

And I am trying to explain to my colleagues of not accepting their family invitations. Some of them, just go with us even if you will not drink. How can I be sure that they will not force me to drink?

There are 50/50 chances that they will force me to drink because I am in the drinking session. I am going to accept their invitations if just for fun and no drinking session included. I am just proactive.

Christmas spenders aftermath

After Christmas season spending aftermath, our bonuses, salaries, fringed benefits as well as part of our savings are no show anymore. They left us far behind. We need to work harder and harder again to get those salaries, bonuses, fringed benefits and bank savings regain strengths.

If you don't work hard, there is no reason to celebrate on the next Christmas season. No need to think more where to get those salaries. If you do not have work or business right now. Go ahead and look for it.

Being poor at the start of the year is a negative one. Thanks for commenting.

Yes, many people find Christmas is not a celebration for them, especially the sick, the old and the lonely and especially, the homeless and the poor. You are quite right that come January, many will be very poor, trying to pay off Christmas debts.

Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ, but many drink when they get together. I enjoyed reading your piece.

'76 and driving in an 18 wheeler to get home for Christmas. More "black" ice than a man should see. It put my butt in a pucker not known. But I got that tractor trailer right up to mom's to enjoy Christmas feast. Love is not always easy.

Yes. Thanks for the comment Liz.

Sadly you have summed up what Christmas means for a lot of people. This was not how it was originally meant to be.
